Bangladesh is probably the only country in the subcontinent where actual hate-speech against any religion is not tolerated.

Anti-blasphemy law is one reason, which is enforced. India has no such law - hate-speech against Islam and Muslims is at an all time high.

They don't get the philosophical angle in most Hindu religious texts, e.g. Upanishads and Mahabharata. Not a Hindu myself - so should not comment.

But it is true, there is concerted effort from some minority Hindu quarters in Bangladesh (funded by RSS/BJP in India) to "Hindu-ize" the general populace, by changing school textbooks and even importing Hindu religious school textbooks from India nowadays to use locally in Bangladesh schools (targeting Muslim kids).

What possible benefit could Bangladeshi Muslim kids get by learning the names of Hindu Dev-devis and avatars?

Or Bangladeshi Hindu writers putting down 13th century Muslim rulers in Bangladesh while glorifying Hindu Sena and Pala Rajas?

the answer is sadly brutally very honest. the majorities with power have always suppressed and persecuted the minorities since the written history of mankind and continue to do so. the only difference is that great nations are made when the majority stops doing that and embraces the minority and accepts its distinction and bring is to the national fold.
