Seems like Hindu extremists are getting inspiration by their counterpart "Mullahs" (whom they criticize day in day out) and converting schools into religious seminaris.

Rest assured, slowly but surely, these fanatics will completey re-write everything and poison minds of school going childeren by feeding them hatred.

What strategy should neighbors of India adopt to counter these hindu version of Talibans and de-radicalize the Indian society?

Haryana to introduce Gita in schools

CHANDIGARH: The Gita would be taught in Haryana schools from the next academic session from class V to XII.

Education minister Ram Bilas Sharma made the announcement on Monday while terming the Gita "supreme source of culture and human values in society''.

Sharma said the scripture is not only about dialogues between Arjuna and Krishna but is accepted worldwide as a supreme source of knowledge.

"A committee of educationists would decide on the inclusion of specific shlokas of the Gita in various standards. We are working on it to ensure that it is included from the next academic session," Sharma said.

Panjab University sociologist Manjeet Singh said the move was against the constitutional spirit.

Devotees selling the Bhagavad Gita book during Bhagwan Jaganath Rath Yatra in Chandigarh.
"Our society has survived under adverse conditions, especially after Independence, due to its patience and capacity to absolve issue of various class and communities. If the majority would start taking such decisions, it would amount to fascism."

These indians are busy preaching 'suckularism' in BD and Pakistan while spreading the words of Hinduism at schools. I wonder what those suckular champs in Europe and America have to say about it! I don't hear any whining from that quarter. So, it' okay if the indians do it, progress is not hindered but if the Talibans do it in their country then it's a 'crime against humanity', a step 'into the medieval period'.

India's Secularism Is a Myth:
Regarding secularism, here's how Kapil Komireddy demolishes the myth of Indian secularism in a piece he wrote for the Guardian newspaper:

For decades Indian intellectuals have claimed that religion, particularly Hinduism, is perfectly compatible with secularism. Indian secularism, they said repeatedly, is not a total rejection of religion by the state but rather an equal appreciation of every faith. Even though no faith is in principle privileged by the state, this approach made it possible for religion to find expression in the public sphere, and, since Hindus in India outnumber adherents of every other faith, Hinduism dominated it. Almost every government building in India has a prominently positioned picture of a Hindu deity. Hindu rituals accompany the inauguration of all public works, without exception.

The novelist Shashi Tharoor tried to burnish this certifiably sectarian phenomenon with a facile analogy: Indian Muslims, he wrote, accept Hindu rituals at state ceremonies in the same spirit as teetotallers accept champagne in western celebrations. This self-affirming explanation is characteristic of someone who belongs to the majority community. Muslims I interviewed took a different view, but understandably, they were unwilling to protest for the fear of being labelled as "angry Muslims" in a country famous for its tolerant Hindus.

The failure of secularism in India – or, more accurately, the failure of the Indian model of secularism – may be just one aspect of the gamut of failures, but it has the potential to bring down the country. Secularism in India rests entirely upon the goodwill of the Hindu majority. Can this kind of secularism really survive a Narendra Modi as prime minister? As Hindus are increasingly infected by the kind of hatred that Varun Gandhi's speech displayed, maybe it is time for Indian secularists to embrace a new, more radical kind of secularism that is not afraid to recognize and reject the principal source of this strife: religion itself.

Haq's Musings: Are India and Pakistan Failed States?

This article is to give consolation to Pakistani Muslims. Whatever people may say, Muslims have increased 5 fold in 67 years in India and living very happily and peacefully. We have not eradicated Mulims and make them 1% of Population like Pakistan did. So write what ever is suitable to you but reality is different.

@HariPrasad : leave them alone.... this is the only way they can sleep better. Don't you see they trying to justify their madarsa education by saying "See even India is having their own version of madarsa !!".
But when you have started, let's break it down to them. If we teach our old teaching in our schools what will it teach them.

1. Ramayana :- How a man should and should not treat his family. And the consequences of good and bad choices.
2. Mahabharata:- How brothers should stick together. Duties and responsibilities of elders in family. And the concurrences of brothers sticking together or fighting each other.

Both the stories teach kids big lessons in bite sizes. Kids read them as stories but latter help them grow as better humans. Both stories define how a boy becomes and man or a girl becomes a lady.

3. Yoga:- If know what it is and are objective about it, then no one can say anything about it. If you oppose it then you may a moronic fool or blinded by a religious shades.

4. Vedic Maths:- Again same as above.

6.Astronomy:- I doubt they will include such serious topic in schools but if they do it would be a good addition.

Mind one thing, we had a good scientific base and education base in the old ages. That is the reason we had Kashi Vishwa Vidyalaya and teachers/practicers like Sushrut. If donn know what these are, then take you sorry a$$ to wiki and look them up. Donn say wiki is not a good source, it's just the starting point. Find other sources and READ.

What will madarsa teach :-

Islam -Good principles and ideas. But when the same ideas are taken out of context and mixed with brain washing and conspiracies ( which they generally do ), we have people stating laws of physics where made to deter muslamans going above jews !! Well we all saw the horrors done to school children few days back. I donn wanna make any of you to re live that experience. But that is a reality. I know they where a very minute faction of the public I am talking about but even minuter faction of usable material comes out of those madarsa.

whats wrong in including gita in school curriculum ?? unlike quran and bible , gita isn't a religious test .. it more of a book on morals of life... many reputed universities have already included parts of gita in to there curriculum.. saton hall university , a u.s based catholic university has made study of gita mandatory for all of its students... do u call them communal too ??

. .
and what should we call, Mecca, Islamic Shivling?

Use of such words like, Hindu Madrassa, islamic dhamaka, .. man, what is this nonsense going around? New words new senseless meaning.

.
Gita does not state that Muslims and Jews are enemy. Gita does not differentiate between humans. There is no Hindu and Non Hindu in Gita. There are no religious codes/rules/prayer rituals to be followed in Gita. It does not focus on any religion. It says all Human being are equal and all Gods are equal.

There is only one thing that Geeta teaches - To do good deeds. Its sole focus is to make one a good Human being.

Indian Muslims are worse off than even the lowest caste untouchables in India.

Do you know that Muslims make up 13% of India's population but 28% of Indian prisoners? Similarly, Christians make up 2.8% of India's population but 6% of India's prison population? Meanwhile, the newly elected parliament has just 4% Muslim representation?

Have you seen the ghettoization of Muslims in Indian cities? Have any Muslims told you that they are excluded from living in nice urban neighborhoods?

Do you know that Indian Muslims are now worse off than the lowest-caste Hindus, or Dalits, in terms of education and employment? Have you seen the 2013 update of the Sachar Commission report which shows little improvement for Muslims since the original report published 2006?

It actually exposes the inabilities and lack of will of the general muslim population.Have a look at other minorities in India. They are flourishing in the fields of defence, education, science and technology.
Muslim leaders need to think about some reforms within their own religion rather than blaming the government.

Perfectly right.

Where ever we have gone, we have gone with our ethos. This ethos have made is the premium Diaspora and elite class in any place in world. We are not the one who are insulted and hanged because of our act.

We follow the Dharma and not sect or religion. Dharma is for whole human race and for particular group. Our Dharma is eternal and it leads us to the path of Highest morality and to see god in every human being and even in animal. Some foolish people unnecessarily trying to establish parity just to justify what is happeing their in their country by giving the example of India and Hindus.

Can you tell me about the representation of Bloach and Kashmiris in Pakistan. It is almost Zero so they are worse than Indian Muslims.
