Hillary called India ‘self-appointed frontrunner for UNSC’, ordered snooping

@Paladin, I had so far thought you to be a mature sensible poster, but lately your posts are stooping to low levels.
I found the picture offensive and insulting. I give respect to every lady, and expect every one also to show respect.

this must be a shocking development for Indian Bid for UNSC permanent seat.

.
I wonder why we are obsessed with security council permanent seat. Will it serve our purpose better?
We are able to take fairly independent decisions now. Permanent membership will add pressure from every country to behave in a certain way.

It will put pressure on us to make sacrifice in kashmir and burma.

To all Indian members: Does anybody here think that permanent membership is not properly debated in India( e.g. similar to Indian bid for sashi tharoor's candidature)

why is it shocking?? maybe she is overwhelmed by the kind of efforts indian is putting in this front!!
had this not been the case, i don't think obama would have made the kind of statement he made in indian parliament supporting india's bid!!
so don't read too much into this..

I dont know why people go gaga over this statement for two very obvious reasons

1) It was adressed to all the four nations of the G-4 and not India alone

2) More importantly when the POTUS himself declares his explicit support standing inside the bedrock of Indian democracy in the full glare of National and international media --- the leaks of the Sec of State in private (no pun intended :woot: ) fades in importance.

Well, there is a concept of recency and heirarchy to be looked at...

I would rather take the American President's statement in the Indian parliament that is one month old, over a leaked cable of a dismissive nature from the US sec state 1.5 years back.. :)

But she is touting to be the next president
so if thats what she really thinks about India then it is a very bad news

this can have adverse effects on the regional politics
I dont think West wants any more Asian members in the security council
they are already kicking themselves for letting in China.

Obama is a "NObama" now he is history... so whatever he said in India means nothing much.. if he manages to complete his term that will be an achievement

Dont underestimate her post and her personality
she has a very strong backing. remember that some democarats were so disgrunted due to her lost bid for American presidency that they voted republicans.

she is very well rooted in the West wing and she talks the language of the US policy

I really feel bad for India, this is how US is treating its regional partner even before using it against China.

As I said, 18 months is a long time. Also compare USA's overall approach to India 18 months back and now. But anyway.. Not significant at all... As I said somewhere else, UNSC seat is just an esteem play which has little in return in the immidiate future. And this leak actually helps. US will go even further to show that the leak is out dated.

About Obama, I agree.. I actually go further and say that Dems are gone in the next elections.. Just like the Congress..And Zardari saheb's flirtings with Sarah Palin aside, Republicans are always prefered by India...

thanks for your concern. my full sympathy with your predicament.

coming back to gravity of hilary's point, she is appointed as secretary of state by obama.. she only carries forward obama's policy. doesn't run a parallel govts. also just to let you know, if she wants to be US president, she will have to wait till 2019. by then lot of things would have changed.

@irfan baloch
well thank you for your 'grave' concerns on indias UN membership
about hillary clinton being the front runner- i dont see democrats in power for the next 20 years
and guess what republicans r fully in favour of india getting perm membership.
so no concerns as of now.

I think you are wrong
I was listening to the radio and some racist Republicans and tea party members were going all emotional about lossing jobs to Indians
they were bitterly against UN seat

according to them.. giving UNSC seat to India will mean the death of American jobs and Indian monopoly over American job market

crazy it may sound but then again these people are ****** rich and always use emotional rants to force their opinions.

I had to stop listening when one guy said that India will veto any move to close the Indian call centres
I know it was very funny but then again Americans did have President Bush?????????

I think India should demand an appology from Hillary Clinton
no one likes her but this time she went very low

very disappointing and shocking.

.
Do you really thought that ??
France, Russia, UK already supported our bid for UNSC

Fuk with the support, even U.S supported India in front of the media glare

But this is what they r discussing behind the close door's.

We the public only see what they want to see,the rest of the games,r played at the highest crescents, while we people keep bragging about whom support whom on some forum's
