Higher education: ‘70 Pakistanis to get Chevening scholarship this year’

LAHORE:
As many as 70 candidates, including journalists, would be awarded Chevening scholarships this year, British High Commission Press Attaché and scholarship programme head Andy Battson said on Saturday.

He was speaking at the ceremony organised at the Lahore Press Club.

He said the journalists scholarships will be offered in collaboration with the Lahore Press Club and the Media Advocacy Centre.

“The scholarship quota for Pakistan is equal to that for China,” Betson said.

He said 1,300 Pakistanis had benefited from the scholarships in the previous years.

Lahore Press Club president Arshad Ansari also spoke at the occasion.

He thanked the Media Advocacy Centre and the British Council for announcing the scholarships for journalists. He said he hoped the scholarships would strengthen the club’s efforts for journalists’ capacity building.

Good job students, i was interviewed for the scholarship in 2011, couldn't make it to the list.

Submitted my application for chevening scholarship for years 2017-18. 8 November was last deadline.
