AHMEDABAD: A high level delegation from Bangladesh has been on a visit to Gujarat to duty the disaster management policies and practices.
The delegation led by Bangladesh government's additional secretary Asit Kumar Mukutmuni also visited Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
Impressed by Gujarat government's disaster management policies and practices of global standards, a high-level delegation of Bangladesh government has come to Gujarat for in-depth study of the system and skills in its entirety.
Modi during the meeting briefed the delegation about the State Government's initiative, building massive infrastructure, human re-source development and training for disaster management after the killer earthquake in 2001 as well as the most challenging part of converting crises into opportunities.
The team was assured of all possible cooperation in in building up strong and effective machinery for disaster management. Government officials also showed the delegation how the villages which were destroyed in the earthquake were rebuilt with proper planning and development.
