What's new

High Court bars use of Hindi songs as mobile ringtones, welcome tunes

Could it be that they are too popular? What is their ratings?

Bengali people are just thick. They fall for the same evil mother in law storyline bull shit every time but fail to see how unoriginal these directors and writers are. The same epidemic here in the west, Pakistanis and Bangladeshis just watch these lowlife serials, same storyline just under a different name. Why not just watch a Bangla drama and leave it at that...

GOOD desition, they should also banned star plus, star jalsa . or hindi serial...............................

Any Bangladeshi watching Indian content needs to be shot in the face.

Did Judge knew that most of the content that comes along with phone, be it ringtones, be it wallpapers or sample music are also not bangladesi ?

Nobody is forcing the user to have bollywood or indian music, its there choice, they can select any music thats available.
And the cultural ministry has to learn that no culture is static, it evolves and gets inspired by leading cultures of era. If it doesnt the the society dies off due to stagnation. Inspiration can be good or bad, but because of that societies which try to aloof themselves against it lead to situation of internal conflicts which rises to become globals social conflict in lines of ISIS

Its a decision of the time we are having too much cultural aggregation by India/hindi and we are already occupied by this cultural aggression . most of the family are now watching either hindi tv serial or indian Bngla tv serial ans we are already seeing bad influence of this kind of serial to our society . it is high time we stop airing Star Zee Chanel in our country . but we can continue airing indian national channel like DD or other which can consider good .

Indian Saas-Bahoo serials (in fact any Indian-made serials) and Bollywood movies should be banned until they let our serials and movies be shown in India.

Tit for tat. Fair is fair.....

Our serials are way better than their's when we consider creativity and presentation. But they are banning them (especially in Bengali markets like Kolkata) intentionally. Cause they know once our serials start airing over there - they will be way more popular.

We take a back seat to no one when quality TV media is concerned. Well - Pakistani serials come very close.

Only Hinduised fags watch Indian serials.Let any Indian come to Bangladesh and we will torture them.

Bangladeshis are crazy about bollywood. The 'bad' cultural influence is pure bs, bangladesh is has permissive culture and most of India is still quite traditional. The damage is probably on their movie industry, because they cant compete with bollywood on budget.
Music wise I dont know because you can never have enough music, besides bollywood does not really complete with local rock bands.

There is no paranoia. They just don't feel that the influence of a trashy and cheap culture like Bollywood helps anything.

Newsflash - We have Bangladeshi culture which suits us better than Bollywood culture any day of the week.

And I have never heard of this Bangladeshi Katy Perry. In my whole life....

Somebody proved about Bangladeshi culture in USA ...?? That funny ...

Someone give that judge some cha, muri and jilabi, and tell him to calm down his horses... I listen to bangladesi band songs all the time, so what....Nobody dies, falls ill, becomes bankrupt or changes religion by listening few tunes

Anyway, Jader desh tader niyom...

If anyone wants to use personally, they can. But court orders against paid services by different operators. They may violate different rules. If these operators are providing these services, are they taking permission from the Indian or other subcontinental sources?

Suffice it to say Bangladeshis have borrowed many influences from many parts of the world. And your 'Dharmic Bengali' contribution is only a small part of it and is thankfully no longer important in today's Bangladeshi culture.

Bangladesh is doing fine as a secular modern state Thank You - with enough sensitivity toward all types of religions including Islam.

Contrary to what they brainwash you with at the RSS shakha - you don't have to be a Racist Hindu to have talent or to have contribution to 'Indian culture'.

Talking about classical Bengali culture - that Bankim Chandra idiot was a first-class Muslim hater. Racist of the first degree. He called all Muslims 'mlecchas'. Nice of you to put him on a pedestal. Early Racist and probably worshipped in your local RSS shakha.

Don't call Rabindranath 'dharmic'. His family and him were founding fathers of the 'Brahma Samaj' and were the least racist of all Hindus. They were not even 'narrow-minded' Hindus in the true sense. Their philosophy was a lot broader than that.

Read some history please...

My point was that India has a lot better culture and principles to offer to us than these racist ideologues like Bankim and their hate-philosophies. Also - keep your trash Bollywood culture to yourself.

Bangladeshis have contributed to your classical music that you know very little about. Ever heard about Ustad Alauddin Khan? He is the founder of the Maihar Gharana tradition of Indian Music.

He was awarded the 'Padma Vibhushan', India's second highest civilian honour in 1971, and prior to that in 1954, the 'Sangeet Natak Akademi' in India awarded him with its highest honour, the Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship for lifetime contribution to Indian music.

His son Ali Akbar Khan was born in the village of Shibpur, Nabinagar Upazila, Brahmanbaria , in present-day Bangladesh, (then Comilla, East Bengal), to renowned musician and teacher, Allauddin Khan and Madina Begum. Soon after his birth, Khan's family returned to Maihar (in present day Madhya Pradesh, India). Ali Akbar Khan was also awarded the 'Padma Vibhushan' and was nominated for five grammy awards.

Allauddin Khan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Your best movie lyricist S.D. Burman and his son R.D. Burman were all originally from Comilla, Bangladesh (members of the Tripura Royal family).

Many of the Bengali Hindu film actresses in India had Bangladeshi family connections originally. Suchitra Sen is a good example.

Even today the best Rabindra Sangeet singer is from Bangladesh (Rizwana Chowdhury).

Now tell me she has to be 'dharmic' to sing 'Rabindra Sangeet'??

If we see something good in any culture - we have the right to adopt and enjoy it. And without becoming Hindu - I might add.

Anybody born or lived in Bangladesh as a Bangladeshi citizen on or after the creation of Bangladesh can be considered a Bangladeshi. The examples you gave were born and lived in undivided India as Indians, and when Bangladesh was created by partitioning undivided India, they moved from the part of land that became Bangladesh to Indian parts, rejecting the Bangladeshi identity. Hence, they cannot be called Bangladeshis. Even they don't consider themselves Bangladeshis, how can you? :)

Dude read carefully our writers often named their country as Bangladesh. Way before Bangladesh was created. Countless times. They can be called joint citizens. We will glorify or highlight everything that originated or associated from our one inch of land that suits us. And we never threw away our claim in Bengal. Which is IOB. We dont claim Indian history. Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Khulna, Rajshahi, Barishal. All of them have particular histories. Combined them is history of BD. No BS plz.

From Rabindrath Thakur's interview
