Here’s Everything You Need To Know About Rihanna’s New Saudi Beau

This popstar is said to be “head over heels” for this Middle Eastern billionaire businessman.

Rihanna looks to have found someone to stand under her umbrella.

The Bajan singer has embarked on a new relationship according to media reports, with her beau recently unveiled as a businessman based rather close to home (our home, that is).

The We Found Love star and Saudi Arabian billionaire Hassan Jameel were spotted enjoying a holiday in Ibiza this week, with Rihanna telling friends this “is the real deal”.

“They’ve been spending a lot of time together away from prying eyes and are really serious. They’re really enjoying each others’ company,” a source told The Sun.

So, just who is Hassan Jameel?

The businessman had been making quite a name for himself before news of his A-list relationship broke, with the 29-year-old’s family named among 2016’s richest Middle Eastern families by Forbes.

Jameel is the deputy president and vice chairman of Abdul Latif Jameel, a company started by his grandfather that has the rights to the Saudi Arabian distribution of Toyota Cars.

The family are worth US$1.5 billion (Dhs5.5 billion) according to Forbes, making them the 12th wealthiest in the region.

Since the company’s launch in 1945, it has diversified to include financial services, real estate services and energy services, to name but a few.

Jameel is also president of the company’s charitable organisation Community Jameel, which runs a range of initiatives “promote and contribute towards positive societal change and economic sustainability”, according to its website.

In his roles, the businessman has mingled with some huge names, including British royal Prince Andrew:

In 2014 Jameel’s father Mohammed, the chairman and president of Abdul Latif Jameel, became the first Saudi to receive an honorary knighthood from Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II for his philanthropic contribution to arts and culture in the UK.

Quite the family CV, huh?

Pop star Rihanna (L) Hassan Jameel (R), deputy president and vice chairman of Abdul Latif Jameel (ALJ) Co.

JEDDAH: A prominent Saudi businessman took the Internet by storm after photos of him with pop star Rihanna surfaced on social media and went viral Wednesday.
The Saudi “prince charming” was identified as billionaire Hassan Jameel, deputy president and vice chairman of Abdul Latif Jameel (ALJ) Co. Many British tabloids has referred to him as Rihanna’s “new boyfriend.”
This is yet to be confirmed by the superstar or the Saudi businessman. A comment has been requested from ALJ's PR team.
The alleged couple seemed to be thoroughly enjoying their time in a swimming pool inside their Spanish villa unaware of the chaos that swept social media, as fans were eagerly trying to hunt down the mysterious Arab man’s identity.

His business life

The 35-year-old businessman belongs to a wealthy Saudi family renowned locally and even globally for its longstanding relationship with Japanese automaker Toyota. For decades, the Jameels owned the streets in Saudi Arabia with the exclusive dealership rights of Toyota and Lexus; they also provided maintenance and after-sale service which made their business a case study to be shared worldwide.

Hassan Jameel, the family’s newest public face, has previously been linked with supermodel Naomi Campbell, with the two spotted together at British Summer Time Festival in London’s Hyde Park in July 2016. However, few people know if the two were just friends or were romantically involved.
For her part, Rihanna’s leaked pictures became the most talked-about topic on social media since her breakup with the Canadian rapper Drake whom she has been dating on and off since 2009.

ALJ: the road to success

Started in 1945, ALJ is now considered a global giant, and the family has a net worth of $1.5 billion.
In 1955, ALJ became the authorized dealer for Toyota in Saudi Arabia.
From the beginning, ALJ recognized the importance of personal transportation to Saudis. Even before paved roads, Abdul Latif Jameel saw how the 4x4 SUVs would benefit his customers, allowing them to move and navigate the terrain of his country. So, the first order of 4x4 vehicles was the beginning of a long journey with Toyota Motor Corp.
In 1955, ALJ became the authorized dealer for Toyota in Saudi Arabia and this close relationship continues to this day. This year, ALJ celebrates 62 years of success with Toyota.
Since its establishment in 2003, Community Jameel — the CSR arm of ALJ — has shined in several areas of development: combating unemployment through creating job opportunities, encouraging and promoting arts and culture in the region and worldwide.
Community Jameel has also sought to support research and studies in the fight against poverty through its global poverty alleviation program as well as its dedicated education and training initiative that supports students beyond the classroom walls, which ultimately enables positive change in society.
Community Jameel partners with global institutions — including the US-based Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Victoria and Albert museum (V&A) in London — through which it focuses on water and food security and social care.
The organization’s geographic reach extends further than the Middle East region.
ALJ is also the official sponsor of the Saudi professional league, making it the biggest sponsor in the history of sport in Saudi Arabia. It aims to interact with the fans continuously in and out of stadiums throughout the football season.

...are we doing celebrity stuff now...?

Please no.

"A source told the Sun"... sheesh.

Well, I believe this thread is of much greater worldwide interest than what some low-budget Iranian tourists are doing somewhere in Turkey.

Rihanna is also much better looking but that is evident.

Not always.

Just noticed in that link that they separated a few months ago just after they became parents.

Anyway I don't blame them. Mulatto/Habesha women are something special. BTW, Jameel reminds me of Isco.

Must be a distant cousin given the fact that Isco is from Al-Andalus. A 800 year presence tends to leave a mark.

Agreed bro, the best girls are from Middle East in my opinion.

I have had a few girlfriends in my time, but nothing beats the sexually repressed type of girls from Middle East. Had a gf from Egypt that used to wear the hijab, but boy was she a freak once the doors closed (or sometimes in public places too)

Ahh the memories...
Are Indians traditionalists like Arabs because I know you have similar things like you don't date someone without marriage or if he/she from different culture or traditions

50% of the 3.5 million Arab-Americans are Christians. However even Arab Christians and other closely related ethnic groups of Arabs and fellow Semites (Christian Assyrians) tend to be conservative. However the ones born and breed in the West, especially the Christian lot, are less strict and more inclined to date. However even among the Arab communities in Europe (mostly from Palestine, Iraq and Maghreb pre-Syrian migration) I would say that a sizable percentage date but many of them tend to keep it low key similar to other Muslim and non-Muslim communities from the "East".

Anyway Egyptians (as in average Egyptian) tend to be one of the more conservative and religious Arabs out there. I would even claim that the average Egyptian is more conservative than the average Saudi Arabian (especially the current young generation below 30 which forms 70% of our population). Especially those from the countryside and Upper Egypt.

In general GCC Arabs can range from very liberal, Atheists (this is not much spoken about but KSA has one of the largest percentages of Atheists in the entire Muslim world) or vocal conservatives. Most however, especially the youth, are found between the conservative and "liberal" sphere. "Liberal" as in not being any different from your average youth nowadays and not being literalists. The latter is often wrongly and quite hilariously thought to be the vast majority in the GCC. Often by uniformed and ignorant foreigners obviously.

Liberal here does not equal a Western liberal. The liberals among us have slightly different priorities and definitions of liberalism.

I think it is even more widespread in India/South Asia due to the sharp religious divide, the very diverse ethnic groups (speaking totally different languages and many of them) and the caste system. That's just my suspicion. Their rural populations are also many times bigger than in the Arab world where the urbanization is strong, especially in the GCC. Obviously it was not always like this but the urbanization has helped "liberalize" much of the Arab world IMO. The city dweller/rural divide that has always existed in every civilization/culture is maybe sharper today than ever if we remove the youth in both places and globalization due to technology (mass media, social media etc.).
