You have to buy it from Pakistan and there's no rocket science in set up if you know how to insert sim in your cellphone. Your phone shouldn't be network locked, you will automatically receive settings for data services when you will turn your Sim on. But yes, have photocopy of your passport and visa with you as you have to provide it to buy sim.

BTW sims are almost free, so kid will mind you giving him cheap gift.

yeah the problem was trying to get it over here, after the crappy responces over here on the forum i had to bite the bullet and my mates and they have said the same thing too. shame but no biggy i guess, just like ot be prepared thats all.

im going for 6 weeks which is kinda crazy given i was told its gonna be about 40c when i go. if there's spare data on the sim on a 2x1 month plan i dont see why anyone would complain.

Almost all operators (don't know about SCOM which some member have recommended) give sim for free, all you have to do is initial top up about $1. 10 GB with 90 days validity will cost you around $6-7.

I've got extended family everywhere. Manchester, Liverpool, Nottingham, Birmingham, Derby, Burton, Sheffield, Leeds, Newcastle, Stoke, Bradford, Burnley, Reading, London, Bedford. It's hard getting to those far away, especially since the M1 and M6 are covered in speed cameras now.

Darwen is dead, mind you everything up there apart from Manchester and Liverpool is. The Midlands is much better. We have 5 cities within an hour of each other. Plenty of work too.

I've always wondered why the people who live in Darwen or Burnley just don't move to Manchester. I guess it's not so easy to uproot, especially if you don't have to.

so a quid for 10gb? bloody hell fire thats cheap. im going with this scom sim anyways my mates told me i can get this in dadyaal when we stop over. just wanted to get it/ find out on my own accord

the m1 is a motorway everyone hates, the m6 is fine. when you get to birmingham thats when you breifly hit the cameras. if you want cameras go on the m60 near manchester and the m62 westbound, it all covered in cameras up untill you get pass leeds/bradford.

the midlands is vaguely defined. birmingham is full of people who speak in slow motion Leicester is full of vegetarians . derby full of pot heads and rolls royce if you wanna go there. nottingham is the only desent town there.

Hello all,

its that time again i find myself on a wild adventure. im going to Pakistan as a guest with some mates who are also Pakistanis (duh) Last time i went which was a while back i was in the position where i could not use data on my phone and ring the UK. i was stuck to using my mates parents phones. it was all short notice and i had no time to plan for such event. now i want it to be differant. im assuming there's a large British Pakistani diaspora here and would have some extensive knowledge on how to obtain a pakistani sim, where i can use data in pakistan in the dadayaal district in kashmir, and phone the uk and send/receive emails. im going for about 6 weeks which is more than a month so i dont mind paying for two months and then giving the sim away to some kid and burn the data on youtube.

how do i go about getting said sim card here in the uk?

Buy the sim from any shop in Pakistan and make sure your phone is unlocked for all networks. I think you need to show your passport if you're foreign national to register your sim.

Do you have any idea how many British passport holders are in Kashmir overall?

Maybe he will go there and see Azad Kashmiris are really Azad compared to Jammu.

We can however criticize the governments visa policy which is absurd to begin with given that reciprocity is non existent.
