India will only be independent once it frees itself of economic and social slavery. It's recent economic growth is only the starters. The socio-economic lifestyle of quite a huge percentage of its population must be uplifted. It's people have yet to be served the main meal. Until then, all that Indians are celebrating is the exit of the British from India and not real independence. The same can be said of Pakistan.

it depends on how you look at it.to some it may be independence day and some others it is a sad of partition.
even in our state we telanganites are happy that congress has declared the process for tg state where as andhra people are angry and sad and are agitating vigorously to stop the process(ofcourse they are apprehensive abt their status in hyd once the state is bifurcated).
any division must not leave animosity between the parties involved later on.
