‘Hakimullah’s likely successor also killed

PESHAWAR: Pakistani Taliban chief Hakimullah Mehsud’s close aide Qari Hussain, the top trainer of suicide bombers and one of his potential successors, was killed in the same US drone attack that fatally injured him, sources said.

The sources in Aurakzai tribal region, who did not want to be identified for security reasons, said Qari Hussain died in the attack in North Waziristan on January 14. Wali-ur-Rehman, the chief military strategist of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, too has been missing since that drone attack, the sources said.

Meanwhile, the Taliban in North Waziristan threatened the government with a “big war” if the army launched any operation there. “If the army starts another operation here, the mujahideen will start a big war, so locals are directed to form a committee of elders to meet Karzai and ask him for a safe place... to migrate”, pamphlets in the region said.

I dunno but I'd start being careful of a false-flag op where key leaders drop off the net and the word's put out that they got whacked. Right now I'm as suspicious of too much success as I'd be of no success.
