Habitable exoplanets are bad news for humanity

.
What exactly is causing this bottleneck has been the subject of debate for more than 50 years. Explanations could include a paucity of Earth-like planets or self-replicating molecules. Other possibilities could be an improbable jump from simple prokaryotic life (cells without specialized parts) to more complex eukaryotic life—after all, this transition took well over a billion years on Earth.

Proponents of this “Rare Earth” hypothesis also argue that the evolution of complex life requires an exceedingly large number of perfect conditions. In addition to Earth being in the habitable zone of the Sun, our star must be far enough away from the galactic center to avoid destructive radiation, our gas giants must be massive enough to sweep asteroids from Earth’s trajectory, and our unusually large Moon stabilizes the axial tilt that gives us different seasons.

These are just a few prerequisites for complex life. The emergence of symbolic language, tools and intelligence could require other such “perfect conditions” as well
.

I personally would go with the extraordinary confluence of factors needed to bring about "intelligent life".

While there may be billions of planets in the habitable zone (many even supporting liquid water), there is an almost impossible array of perfect conditions needed for supporting (let alone creating) living beings.

Of course most of us have read that if the values of some of the universal constants was off by a teeny tiny factor, there would be no universe as we know it.

There is much that still needs to be known about it all. I doubt humanity will survive long enough to figure out most of it.

Believe it or not, the chances of survival of the human race increases with every day we live. Humans were helpless even hundred years before, funny how quick the equation changes.

And the last 100 years of innovaton beats the last 5000 years of Human innovation times 50.

That is actually an understatement. The trajectory of Human inventions has been gathering pace.

That being said, we shouldn't worship technology.

Let's keep the planet that we have.

What if we are the most intelligent race in the universe? Something like in avatar movie...:P :P

. .
Even if they exists, and they are not transmitting, we'd never know.

You didn't get my point. What if we are the most intelligent race and one day we land on a planet-with-life and they start worshiping us..:P :P

That's a very much possibility. We cannot deny the same might have happened to us, as the Godly weapons that's described in the scriptures are very much a reality now.

The Great Filter is an argument that attempts to resolve the Fermi Paradox: why have we not found aliens (or why have they not found us), despite the existence of hundreds of billions of exosolar systems in our galactic neighborhood in which life might evolve? As the namesake physicist Enrico Fermi noted, it seems rather extraordinary that not a single extraterrestrial signal or engineering project has been detected
And what are we making use of for the search for extraterrestrial civilizations? Radio waves? Visual observation?

There are billions of radio frequencies which we haven't even exploited as yet. We don’t know which frequency the aliens might be using for communications. And one of the reasons why we have not been able to detect them as yet.

Forget about how SETI is trying it’s best for a response from ET by the antique methodology using the good old radio waves for propagation. Is it any wonder they have not received a ‘reply’ as yet? Are they barking up the wrong tree? Apparently, communications in the electromagnetic spectrum is passé! At least for advanced ET races.

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) has several papers on esoteric subjects, one of which contains details of Quantum Gravitational Antennas for instantaneous communications across the Universe! And there’s more….

The GCC (Gravity Control Cell) antenna radiates graviphotons and gravitational waves simultaneously. Thus it is not only a gravitational antenna, but a Quantum gravitational antenna because it can also emit and detect gravitational Virtual quanta (graviphotons) which in turn can transmit information instantaneously from any distance in the universe without scattering.

It will change the paradigms of energy generation, transportation and telecommunications. However, this is all in the realms of theory at present. It's possible that advanced cultures are using such methods for interstellar communications which we haven't a clue about. Getting such esoteric methods of communication operational will take us perhaps hundreds of years to perfect.

Our communication methods are akin to native Red Indians of the wild West using smoke signals to communicate compared to us using cell phones today!

So, is it any wonder that we haven't contacted alien civilizations as yet?

And how do we know that they are not amongst us now? They could resemble humans in every way and therefore difficult to distinguish! Paul Hellyer, 90, the former defence minister of Canada, went to an extraordinary length by defying the accepted military taboo to declare that aliens are already working for us, in an interview with the RT, the Russian TV channel.

Here.....

Fascinating, what?

Humanity's only survival is becoming immortal , and that is the only means for us to visit these far distant planets.

Universe is so vast and full real estate , that the figure is "Unimaginable" by the constructs of our minds , the distances become vague , I mean a space craft launched in 1977 , just travelled out of Solar system(30 years). And the location of the new plants is Million times more far.

How can humans become imortal

a) Growing new bodies for soul / mind to transfer (Clone research , Genetics research etc)
b) New cloned body parts for fine tunning (Body part printing etc 3D printers etc - we are going that direction)
c) Extended our life spans (We have already expanded our lives from 35-40 years to 80-90 years)
d) Retain knowledge and wisdom (We are already doing it , but it takes us 20 years to train a mind , imagine you can attain that knowledge in 6 years)
e) Rockets are here to stay , and sadly these are not ideal for travelling in space not to mention fossil fuel we rely on will vanish in next 100-200 years.

Humans evolve due to minds of few scientists that push the boundries of knowledge for 10-14 years which we call their professional lives and then they perish due to old age. That is the only limit to our evolution and growth.

Can other planets have civilizations that have mastered the art of ageing and life spans possible , and who knows they might have plants orbiting our planet to deflecting any asteroids in space , just like humans's protect certain wild life that is endangered form elements

If Habitable planet exists- the planet Earth will become expendable- Bad News for our great great great grand children-

I doubt it.

The danger is not so much from outside (and we are still pretty much helpless in the face of a cataclysmic astronomical or even environmental event) but human beings wiping out themselves.

We have created the means to do that and our fate is only hanging by the thread of supposed sanity of those who wield that enormous power.

And the last 100 years of innovaton beats the last 5000 years of Human innovation times 50.

That is actually an understatement. The trajectory of Human inventions has been gathering pace.

Nope. We are underestimating the solid base created by the ancient human beings. Everything from language to writing to counting and numerals, agriculture, tools, animal domestication, civilization...

The last 100 years may seem dazzling but if we put it in perspective, it is based on a very solid foundation and is just incremental stuff.

In fact, there is every reason to suspect that in many respects the ancients were ahead of us in many fields and a lot of knowledge has been lost over the centuries.

The same can happen again very easily.

Extended our life spans (We have already expanded our lives from 35-40 years to 80-90 years)

Human beings have been living for 80-90 years since thousands of years.

What has changed is the "average life expectancy" and that is because of the increased infant survival rates.

Any human who survived the first few months or years has had pretty much the same average lifespan since hundreds of years.

I am not concerned. Will Smith will save us.
