On the other hand Pakistan should make the Americans realize that India is just a passing phase in your relationship (friendships) and it is Pakistan to whom you will have to return once your objective with India is fulfilled and once India shows you a thumbs down. As I have pointed out in another thread "today's counterweight to China will be tomorrow's headache to U.S of America"
And Pakistan will be the doctor to cure that headache.

Yes this is what few heads started thinking around, good for them to realize.

the only issue is that China and India are not done with their economic ascent

for me my Pakistan comes first others go to hell i don't care either its Iran or KSA for me it Pakistan first.
as for Air base as far as i remember Shah of Iran was in power up till 1969. it was your so called mullah regime in 1971 and even after 1971 their was a time when we had to scatter our jets due to some reason which can not be made public plus what about all the support at times when we wer under sanctions that time Muslim world showed unity both KSA and Iran helped us out and we need that unity back.
and yes their wer some problems at Pak Iran boarder due to raw agents present at both end which wer causing issues but now it is solved.

Shah was in power till 1979..please correct that..Mullah regime came in 1979 revolution too..

I agree they have. We have to start working on it. There is the technological edge U.S. enjoys till now and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. Plus, China and India could be the friends of future. So it would be in Pakistan's interest to have some sort of relationship with U.S.
Many people would say that China and India can't be friends. Well guys, we have been betrayed by powerful friends in the past. And with China becoming more and more powerful, the fear of history repeating itself is always there.
