Gun battles on the LOC continuing thread.

Latest reports from the front state we lost civilians in that sector who did not leave the area in time. Some casualties (not losses) due to the Mortars but as such the Indians are basically throwing everything in an attempt to get their own troops morale up after their losses.
Our guys are just hunkered down and waiting it outz
Pray that there are no more civilian casualties, everyone needs to be evacuated. Are the boys waiting for the Indians to tire out?

Chest thumping aside, I get the feeling Nawaz asked his girlfriend modi to bail him out as the heat is on his ***.

Might be part of two front pressure tactics... especially with we falling out with US...

That's why pak is hitting them hard so they stop their stupid games....

There was report on shelling into Afghanistan ... they did destroy that com tower and shut down tout radios...

Message may be don't act smart.... we know we are pretty capable

It is rumoured that Indians brought old tanks on border to use as pill boxes, to only use their canons and hmg mounted on tanks.

My dear man we try are hardest. Even if you compare Indian Americans vs Pakistani Americans then Pakis are more refined, sophisticated etc. But the gora is just not willing to listen. Instead it prefers a$$-licking gangus who eat pork, fornicate and drink like them. Whereas, we stay away from such things. But those Pakistanis who are willing to become successful means they have to give up their values and give gora what he wants. Hence, you get godlees people like H. Haqqani.

It is a very hypocritical society. You have to live here to realize it. The gora hates an Islamic/Pakistani identity and is not willing to listen to anything on the contrary.

There are very few people sympathetic. But those are only playing nice. Like how they wanted freedom for blacks in North, but were not willing to give them housing or employment when blacks actually arrived in North.
I am living it, and what you have stated are excuses. Heck even us educated Pakistanis who came later or our parents who came in the 70s are dumbfounded by the stubborn and backward lot that arrived in the early to mid 90s in the US.

BSF returns fire, kills 5-6 Pak Rangers in last few days
NEW DELHI: Unleashing massive fire power to retaliate against firing and shelling from across the border in Jammu region, the BSF has destroyed several Pakistani posts and ammunition and fuel dumps besides killing 5-6 Pak Rangers personnel in the last few days. BSF's action followed home minister Rajanth Singh's 'five for one' directive in view of Pakistan's relentless ceasefire violations targeting Indian personnel and civilian population, sources said.
Through precision firing, BSF inflicted heavy damage on the other side while an estimated five to six Pak Rangers personnel were also killed.
The retaliatory fire was is in response to Pakistan killing at least 12 persons, including five Indian security personnel, and injuring over 60 others in Jammu since Thursday.
BSF is using long range mortar shells — also called 8mm area weapons— which can hit targets within the range of 5 to 6 km; short range mortar shells (51mm mortar shells) which can hit targets at 900 meters; and small arms like MMG, LMG, rifles in last couple of days.
Sources said over 9,000 mortar shells have been fired across the border in last four days. The assault on Pak Rangers, officials said, will continue till they stop targeting Indian personnel or shelling bordering villages.
"The situation is tense at the International Border along 190 km in Jammu and Punjab," said an officer.
BSF has been given a free hand by Rajnath Singh to use maximum fire power against Pak Rangers and Pak army. Singh is learnt to have directed BSF top brass to take down 5 Pakistani personnel if they kill one on the Indian side, sources said.
The Army is also responding to Pakistan's firing and shelling across the Line of Control in J&K.
In a similar offensive last September, BSF used targeted fire power near the border as part of 'Operation Arjun' which forced Pakistan to seek peace as reported by TOI on September 27, 2017. According to sources, ISI and Pak Rangers' officers living near the border usually facilitate infiltration and provide logistical help to anti-India operations.

No fresh ceasefire violation along IB, LoC

JAMMU: Calm prevailed along the Line of Control and the International Border today with no fresh ceasefire violation by Pakistan reported since Monday.
The lull in firing came as a relief for border residents who have been forced to flee their homes in search of safety.
Twelve persons, including five security personnel, have been killed and over 70 others injured in intense shelling by Pakistan along the IB in Jammu, Kathua and Samba districts and LoC in Poonch and Rajouri districts last week.

"There is no ceasefire violation reported from anywhere along the IB and the LoC since yesterday," police and BSF officials said.
The situation along the borders is peaceful but tense, they said.

The ceasefire violations by Pakistan started on January 18 and continued unabated all along the 449 km stretch from Kathua to Poonch-Rajouri till 5 am yesterday.
Hundreds of border dwellers have migrated from their homes and are camping in relief centres set up by the government at various places.
Officials said security forces are maintaining a close vigil and patrolling has been intensified all along the border to scuttle any infiltration attempt by terrorists to disrupt Republic Day celebrations.

Not tire out but get them more agitated and distracted from the LoC.

Bofors was their big fat kickback scandal that became public. The guns aren’t bad but they essentially came not ready to go and the items required for making them operational were lacking.
Not they aren’t fully operational now.

Our situation was limited to US and chinese pieces whcih are ok but now increasingly outdated.

Today we’ve replaced some of the towed pieces with more updated ones or at least ones with newer barrels but that still doesn’t take away from the overall obsolete nature of our equipment.

I meant to ask they usually boast about how they pounded our posts with bofors and forced us for CFV agreement in 2003. Whats the real story behind it. thats why i asked what was our situation at that time with respect to Indians artillery ?
