Gun battles on the LOC continuing thread.

btw whats the story of bofors which indian always quote happened before 2003 ceasefire violation agreement? whats was our artillery situation at that time? and whats now?

@Oscar @BHarwana

Bofor is a Swedish gun and It was a procurement scandal between India and Sweden

I meant to ask they usually boast about how they pounded our posts with bofors and forced us for CFV agreement in 2003. Whats the real story behind it. thats why i asked what was our situation at that time with respect to Indians artillery ?
No one forced us the cease fire agreement came into being in a SAARC summit in Islamabad. If the situation was really bad remember Kargil. India lost most of it's ammo depot in JK.

They’re Indians, they’ll boast.

The CFV was signed because our next move was total war since escalating meant bringing in D-30s or even our SPHs. We conveyed that to them and the flag calls ended up in the idea of a CFV.

It does help to state that the US government at the time was very helpful in pushing the Indians to stand down.

@Major Sam you can asses the current situation from the western border. Pakistan has made very precise strikes on the Terrorists compounds in Afghanistan in Kunar and those strikes have provided Army with Live experience and feedback of their targeting to actually test their full capability. In these 4 days of LOC tensions Pakistan took out most of the forward posts of India and they would need to rebuild them. That means that are small range shelling is also doing good damage and long range is well tested on the western border. Plus Pakistan conducted brigade level exercises in Jallalpur jattan that was to put every thing into tune. India initiated these ceasefire violations after conducting exercises as well this was just to test Pakistan. India is holding schools in border areas on vocation till 28th jan so I think they will make another provocation. Today was calm on LOC and IB but still 4 days for India to do any mischief.

Pakistan should have continued their retaliation today. Make them pay for their misadventure. We gave them the day off. Now, after a beating it is Indians choice to continue this aggression or let it settle.

I think they will let it settle because they have already got enough pounding and they are tired the shelling now but lets see what they do.

Depends on their motive, either this was to test the waters or to start something small scale to keep their masters happy.

pakistan really hit them hard.they were begging for flag meeting and pak rangers didn't respond.also indians here says that we summoned their high commissioner several times.that's true but india also summoned our high commissioner this time.this shows the intensity of fighting on loc.

The question was referring to post Op Parakaram and 2003.
Had Parakaram been launched, it would have been a bloodbath on both sides.

Now that you noticed that. Where do you suppose the imagery came from?

Id be more concerned that this section was shown without at least blurring out the images marking OUR positions(even if the Indians have more sharp imagery and know it all)

Don't be concerned because those positions are imaginary. Or maybe that map is planted? :enjoy:
