we need to go on the offensive in Baluchistan whats the point of having the military and para military in barracks.
dont need to send in thousands of forces people just small groups working independently with drones and attack helicopters at there disposal. we need to learn from the Israelis
carry out a house to house searches in quetta use nadra system to identify people by police and F. C
some one needs to tell these politicians and generals time to throw these afghans back in to the shit hole they came from if u cant send them back start creating tent cites and keep them locked like the Iranians have done instead of running around all over the country like stray dogs biting us when they like

Army releases details of 3-day Mastung operation that targeted 'IS facilitators'
Dawn.comPublished 20 minutes ago

The Army on Thursday released details of a three-day operation in the Mastung area of Balochistan earlier this month, in which security forces had killed 12 "hardcore terrorists, including two suicide bombers".

"The suicide bomber used against Deputy Chairman of Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri on May 12 was also sent by [the group targeted]," the ISPR revealed.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the operation was carried out on credible reports of the presence of a banned outfit's personnel who had been making contact with the militant Islamic State (IS) group.

"The operation, carried out from June 1 to 3, successfully denied the establishment of any direct or indirect IS-organised infrastructure in Pakistan," the ISPR said, adding that the killed terrorists had belonged to the banned Lashkar-i-Jhangvi Al-Almi (LeJA).

The terrorists had been operating from caves near the Isplingi (Koh-i-Siah/Koh-i- Maran) area, some 36 kilometres southeast of Mastung.

"Operation for physical clearance of target area, spread over 10km, started early morning on June 1 by [the] landing of [a] heliborne force," read the statement.

"Terrorists who were hiding in the caves offered stiff resistance. 250-metre-long gorge with steep heights and multiple caves made the clearance operation difficult and challenging.

"Intelligence and Security Forces personnel fought valiantly to clear the hideout by 3rd June," the Army said.

During the operation, five security forces personnel, including two officers, had been injured.

The ISPR statement further said that security forces destroyed an explosives facility inside the cave and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition, including 50 kilogrammes of explosives, three suicide jackets, 18 grenades, six rocket launchers, four light machine guns,18 small machine guns, four sniper rifles, 38 communication sets and ammunition of various types.

Islamic State claims it killed two Chinese in Pakistan

The so-called Islamic State says it has killed two Chinese nationals who were abducted from south-west Pakistan by armed men in late May.

The IS-linked Amaq news agency made the claim in an Arabic statement on the Telegram messaging app.

China's foreign ministry said it was "gravely concerned" and working to verify the information.

The pair are said to have been studying Urdu at a language centre in the city of Quetta when they were abducted.

According to local media reports at the time of the abduction, armed men took the couple as they left the centre. Another Chinese woman just managed to escape during the confrontation.

At the time, neither IS nor any other militant group said they had kidnapped the pair. Balochistan has seen kidnappings of foreign nationals in recent years by armed Islamist or separatist groups, sometimes for a ransom.

Islamic State controls some territory in Afghanistan and has been seeking to strengthen its hold in Pakistan since 2015 when it carried out its first attack in the country.

China is one of Pakistan's major allies, investing heavily in infrastructure projects including nuclear power plants, roads and dams.

Under China's One Belt One Road initiative which will see the construction of an economic corridor, Pakistanis likely to see massively increased investment as ever closer links are forged between the countries. Balochistan is the heart of the proposed infrastructure investment.

A recent report from the Pentagon also predicts that China will expand its military reach and suggests that it could construct military bases in Pakistan.

No PR-294/2017-ISPR Dated: June 8, 2017
Rawalpindi - June 8, 2017:

The successful operation by Security Forces in Mastung denied establishment of any direct / indirect ISIS organized infrastructure in Balochistan/ Pakistan.

Based on actionable intelligence, Security Forces conducted an operation in Mastung from 1-3 June. There were reports of 10-15 terrorists of a banned outfit Lashrake-Jhangivi Al-Almi (LeJA) hiding in caves near Isplingi ( Koh-i-Siah/Koh-i- Maran) 36 Kilometer South East of Mastung. The said organization was reportedly making efforts for communication with ISIS (Daish) and intended to facilitate establishment of ISIS foothold in Balochistan.

Operation for physical clearance of target area, spread over 10 Kilometers, started early morning 1st June by landing of heliborne force. Operation continued for three days. Terrorists who were hiding in caves offered stiff resistance. 250 Meter long gorge with steep heights and multiple caves made the clearance operation difficult and challenging. Intelligence and Security Forces personnel fought valiantly to clear the hideout by 3rd June.

During exchange of fire, 12 hardcore terrorists including 2 suicide bombers were killed. The suicide bomber used against Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri on 12 May was also sent by this group from same hideout. During the operation 5 security forces personnel including 2 officers got injured. During the operation security forces destroyed IED making facility inside cave and recovered cache of arms and ammunition which included 50 kilograms of explosive, 3 suicide bomber jackets, 18 Grenades, 6 Rocket Launchers, 4 Light Machine Guns,18 small machine guns, 4 sniper rifles, 38 communication sets and huge ammunition of various types.

The successful operation by Security Forces besides denying establishing of any direct / indirect ISIS organized infrastructure in Balochistan/ Pakistan, also foiled terrorist incidents in Pakistan.

COAS has appreciated effort of Southern Command, Intelligence Agencies and the troops for this successful operation.

This is why news of such operations MUST never come out before the mission is accomplished. Mission here was recovery of the the hostages, not killing a few imbeciles. As it turned out, hostages were not on that location and we got the 12 pigs as a welcome bonus, but the results of this op should have been kept secret until and unless the abductees were safely recovered in subsequent (regardless of how many) operations.

Once you start leaking the details with operation pics and videos and pics of killed terrorists, you are endangering the lives of the abductees and inviting a retaliatory response from the terrorists who are devoid of any ethics or morals anyways.

I find this behaviour very unprofessional and frustrating. While the operation was still underway, there were false news (lies) posted on this very forum about the safe recovery of the two individuals. How irresponsible and disgusting behaviour. Do we not have a little patience to wait for the conclusion and an official statement? Who broke this news of operation in that far flung and remote area? Was it military personnel?

.
How you concluded that it was the release of ops news in media which led to killings of Chinese. Whoever kidnapped them had this as the plan right from the beginning. Killing sends right kind of message from a terrorist standpoint. I am sure terrorists across the border or in other parts of Baluchistan who actually had these Chinese came to know about the op as soon as the first bullet was fired from security forces. If we read ISPR's statement carefully, there is simply no mention of abducted Chinese. I think media has confused two separate issues here. My understanding is that this op was the outcome of an investigation triggered after a suicide attack on deputy chairman Senate in which dozens of people perished. IS killed abducted Chinese as a revenge. Don't ignore the internal communication of terrorists, please. Media would have come to know about this raid days after the operation was over. The news of Chinese killing has surfaced in the last 16 hours or so.
