Greek Rafale F3 Vs Turkish S400

While S-400s are great systems, their importance to Turkish air defense is overblown.

It has always been obvious from the very beginning that Turkey just cares about the technology, and really has no intention to seriously use the S-400 in any meaningful capacity. The only two reasons why they haven't handed over the system to Ukraine are a) they still probably need to continue studying the system. B) politics.

Keep in mind, they only got the s-400 because the Chinese and Americans refused a ToT (also, China had originally won the competition).

S400 and SIPER to wake up all daydreamers as like how outdated S125 finished legend of the F-117
In order for the Hisar (and any Turkish aa system) to work with the S400, two things must have happened: either the Russians gave you the source code of the S400 (which they haven't), or you have cracked it.
Which of the two has happened?

think Turkey should get some too. But it will be mostly up to the skills of the pilots using these things. SEAD mission against an S400 will be no joke with or without this update.
Definetely. Of course MMM-E has already laughed at the missile as well as the SPECTRA suite.

India can practice their own Rafales against the S-400.
India will end up shooting down their Rafale in real life.

Probably neither, like you imply :P That means the S-400s must have limited integration from what I understand.

We haven't made a Turkish equivalent for the AGM-88 yet, so I don't see what's funny about it I guess.

But if you're following Roketsan closely, you must feel that it's only a matter of time.

Again what matters is how you use these weapons. I suspect that Greece isn't very good at SEAD, because Turkey didn't have much in the way of air defence for a long time, I can't imagine Hellenic Air Force, being very much focused on Turkey, would have trained a lot for SEAD missions. Only recently after Turkey bought S400s this must have become a concern.

India's long term strategy is to have a comprehensive defense treaty with countries around Turkey. Recent defense co-operation with Armenia and Cyprus is pointing toward that direction.

Maybe in the next leg of defense purchase, Armenia can buy Brahmos missile, and some Air Defense systems.
It is time to send Pakistan SOM/Cakır cm, Atmaca asm and Typhoon bm
S400 is against maybe airliners like MH370, same about Iranian air defenses, they are very good and bringing down civilian airliners like AUI752 and IAF655

Neither could Iranian S-300PMU2 or Bavar 373 or whatever when Iranian sites got attacked by drones lol

Patriot problem was simply because the Patriot radars were literally facing the other way the attack came from, incompetency of the Saudi air defense operators.

S-400 didn't hit shit lol, it can't hit giant Tu-141 jets flying above Russian border 400km into Russia in an airfield with a bunch of nuclear capable strategic bombers
Send a fighter our way and lets see if it works or not.

Because your Turkish ones did? Or you take pride in a rumor about some Su-27 flown by Ukrainians, that was supposedly shot down a 100+ miles away by an S-400?

They actually do it. Frequently. Where have you been?

Oh yeah, what was your supposed age again?
Our combat uav’s devestated the S.A.A.

S400 is stand alone System but using Turkish IFF System and radar software

HISAR and SIPER using Link 1/Link 11B/Link 16 tactical data links to work in coordination with Turkish Air/Naval/Land Forces

We did, twice, in the last two days

Only Israeli Fighter Jets .. nothing else
There is no any Israeli AD System in real combat zone

Russia deployed its own AD Systems PANTSIR , BUK , TOR , S300 , S400 in combat zone
( Syria , Libya , Ukraine )

Naive comparison to begin with - the Turkish S-400 doesn’t stand alone - its an asset focused on a role protected by its own layers of SHORADs and TuAF interception.

The same way the Rafale isn’t going in alone - nor would it likely be the asset used and it could be Greek F-35s. Even if used it wont be the preferred asset would be the Greek F-16Vs which are optimized for SEAD and the Rafale may be used for EW support and taking out ancillary assets in the air.

These “VS” threads serve little without context -

Ukraine sent a bomber sized drone 400km deep into Russia I'm sure our fighter will be fine
They sent a Tu-141 which is around the size of a jet trainer. That entire op had a LOT of intelligence on hand that made it happen which went beyond Ukraine. General malaise in the Russian forces and readiness of their air defenses played a crucial role in that as well.

Turkish UAV based Air Defense Concept

AKINCI UAVs to stay in the air for 24 hours 7/24 in a potential conflict
and to carry AESA Radar , 100+ km GOKDOGAN air to air missiles to protect S400s from Cruise Missiles

MURAD AESA Radar ( GaN technology ) will be fitted to AKINCI UCAV in 2023
to detect even low flying Cruise Missiles from long distance

2 AKINCI UCAVs to carry 16 GOKDOGAN air to air missiles to protect S400s from Cruise Missiles

Also Boeing E7-T AEWC and AKINCI UCAV's AESA Radar to detect air targets and to guide HISAR air defense missiles on enemy targets for cooperative engagement capability via network centric warfare - data links

Bistatic UAV Radar for self defence
UAV Radar for self defence role to increase warning time against low-altitude threats

because Airborne Platform has longer horizon than ground based Radar

UAV based AESA Radar to provide over the horizon detection and tracking capability for self defence to protect S400s

Also to use this concept for Ship self defence

Therefore, the S400 does not cooperate with any other Turkish anti-aircraft system.

In 1999, a senior NATO diplomat warned that Greek S-300s could equally threaten Greek and Turkish warplanes, given that they lacked NATO's IFF systems.
When Greece got the Cypriot S300s, it had asked Russia for help in simply connecting the IFFs, but the Russians were asking for the IFF source code, which you obviously did.

Finally, the matter was resolved years later, with the help of some distant country in the Mediterranean, which has proven to have made a sieve of the Syrian air defense, which has S300 and S400. This is why the Greek S300s so easily lock the Turkish F-16s when they violate Greek airspace.

However, the problem of interoperability still exists, i.e. the S300 radar cannot cooperate with e.g. with Crotale, something similar happens with Turkish.

Greeks Islands have both 6nm of territorial waters and airspace
but Greeks are dreaming about 10 nm airspace

Turkish F-16s are flying in international airspace
far away from Greek mainland
