Turkey did't invade Cyprus. Cyprus has been part of Ottoman since 1570, Just like Istanbul has been a part of Ottoman/Turkey since 1453.

Ottoman empire does not exist anymore and Turkey did not have any part of Cyprus after that no one recognizes Turkish Republic of Cyprus it's best Turkey tries to Reunify the Island it will improve your imagine btw it happened when the Greek Junta was around won't happen again.

Turkey and Greece have both moved on since the Cyprus invasion and formed friendly ties, which is a good thing for both of them. Turkey has greater plans to build their country and their economy. Greece too has their hands full with the Euro bailout and the transformation their economy. Right now Turkey is least of Greece's problems as Greeks need to stand on their own two feet.

Both the countries have wisely choosen the path of peace. The internet warriors do not need to egg them on for a fight. Turkey is fortunate to have a responsible leadership under a capable Recep Tayyip Erdogan who is wisely leading Turkey out of this quagmire of Greece-Turkish rivalry of the past.


Pakistanis wish both the countries a prosperous and robust Economy. Turkey has a very special place in the hearts of Pakistani people.

There was a referandum and Turkish Cypriots overwhelming opted for reunification. It was the Greek Cypriots that voted against reunification of Cyprus.

Yes I know that the 2005 one however Turkey should try to reunify the Island it will improve Turkey Image.

That is out of context. The Greek cypriots want a reunification, the problem was that the reunification as voted by the turkish cypriots was meant to include settlers as well. They are not cypriots.

Greece itself is still responsible for this your Junta, you cannot throw out the Turks they are part of Cypriot now.

No they are not, the massive settling of the northern cyprus has dramatically altered the population structure on the island. Turkish cypriots themselves do not like the settlers.

Even many western Turks are genetically the ancient Hellenic people, but they have culturally become Turks long time ago, as long as they remain happy, why keep remembering the past?

we don't remember the past that often, we have some unresolved issues of today. mainly cyprus and a border dispute.

to protect from another Greek Cypriot aggression! look at KKTC army, almost non existent and look at Cyprus. armed to teeth with russian weaponry.

and please... go look up some pictures from Turkish Cypriots and Turkish Army when they went inside. Turkey's interest there is it's people. it's not like it is a oil rich country we want to invade!
