Why didn't we use helis and long distance fire?

the search/ raiding party gets ambushed
a usual story in such cases. where the apparent target actually baits the other party in believing that its unaware about raid and the hunter becomes hunted. its a psychological war and war of wits
some times our army men see it though and counter it in advance but some times they dont just a s a pure bad luck.

let me share an example

TTP during Gen Kyani time was very much encouraged due to appeasement by MMA and media and had strings of successes against ill prepared Pakistan army (in terms of urban warface).

so TTP will attack a distant post and fall back... that outpost is not the actual target but the relief party is

the outpost will request back up and support


the relief party will be sent out and it will come under attack on on its way to the post.
after attacking the party,.. the TTP will vanish into Sawat or Afghanistan. leaving many killed and injured
its a tried and tested guerrilla tactic (yes our army must see it through but sometimes things don't work out the way we wish).
