Govt took $6.9b foreign loans in just 9 months - Good Governance of PML-N

Changing the environment requires time. Initially, Pakistan requires autocratic rule. We need one man at the top who has supreme power and is able to restructure the mess. There is no other way whether we like it or not. I understand the Indian/American dislike for autocratic rule in Pakistan due to its hate relation with the Pak army, but ordinary Pakistanis usually support such an idea.
You got that "one man" many times in past
How many more times you want this "one ultimate Man
Btw we don't hate your army doing its job
It's the unnecessary war hysteria that India is coming to destroy us, we don't appreciate thought we can live with it.
They are hot headed with small brains, admit it or not they can't replace civilian institutes :partay:

First off, CPEC is not done nor fully functional; especially after it was expanded to around 70-80 billion dollars.

Secondly, this economic growth is nothing compared to our previous growth rates. Terrorism has lagged us behind and has caused Pakistan to lose around 80 billion dollars; which led to a brief economic decay. Terrorism set off a chain of events which linked to spikes in crime, corruption and violence.

International organizations and powerful countries alike have shown surprise and amaze at how Pakistan managed to keep a growing economy despite the massive challenges set in-front of it.

Now that terrorism, crime and corruption is subsiding, billions being poured into development, and nearing completion of CPEC - imagine what our growth rate will come up to?

Pakistan has been known to go from 1% to 12% in growth rates and only once has it experienced negative growth rate. Pakistan is naturally bound to be economically successful.

Also, Pakistanis tend to go apeshit whenever the Government makes a move - they take every negative perspective. This article highlights that and makes no mention that every country has loans and debt and that they are crucial for any country. Even the richest countries have loans and debt. Infact; Pakistan's debt is low compared to countries with the same economic strength.
Brother, other countries might have taken more loan but they also spend it on their civilians more than us....our government if borrowed 6.9 bn dollars would only spend 6.9 million dollars on its country...regarding the rest when asked, we r told that it was used to settle previous debts, was used in projects which will start operating in the year when their government is gone because the project is a complete failure eg energy projects...our economy may be increasing up to 10% annually but that is only due to foreign Pakistanis sending their family their earnings...if our Politicians start working properly expected gdp growth of 85% is expected says a research paper...
Chinese are sickened of Pakistan's civilian authorities working in CEPC....this message was conveyed by Chinese 3 months ago

But why no fingers at those dictators who ruled Pakistan more than half of your existence??
Why not army which has equal say in decision making?

Please compare growth rate of Pakistan under military rule to civilian rule. We've reached up to 11-12% during military rule.

Have you ever thought about why it was like that???
A simple answer is they sold Pakistani policies for the benefit of there aka USA
it's all due to reward by USA in the form of ads and loans

.
It is perfectly fine for under developed countries to borrow as much as they need, as long as it is used for building the country's infrastructure capabilities, education, health care and investment environment. Pakistan unfortunately has used the moneys for lining the pockets of corrupt military

If you do not know what you are talking about; then its best you dont talk about it.

Pakistan under military rule prospered because they tackled corruption, significantly lowered crime, organized and led massive reforms. They had a centralized Government which made it much easier to implement policies, diplomacy, reforms or laws. This Government was backed by a group of very professional, experienced and patriotic; military officers selected from the best institutions.

US aid at that time would equate to less than 0.1% of Pakistan's GDP ; much less than the current 0.5%

Your comment has made my day.

It's all hogwash
Just compare your growth and wars your army fought. There is a considerable overlap

.
My dear you are hugely underestimating powers of Civilian institutions
They can even make army sweat if given adequate freedom
In India no one fears army (well except stone pelters in Valley) but every corrupt politicians fears judiciary

Which India is this?

@notorious_eagle Been long since we interacted ... couple of years now?

Anyways, on a serious note, I think it is time we buried the Kashmir hatchet and absorb respectively held territories and move towards an economic confederation ..... long overdue and needed badly now.

Thanks

Yes Sir

I believe the last we engaged was in discussion related to Syria and the various factions fighting over there. Are you still keeping up with the conflict? Would love to engage you on the Syrian conflict as lately, i have been paying more and more attention to the matter. Its like a chicken and egg game.

I couldn't agree with you more, economic empowerment is the key to securing our futures. Lately, i have been very disappointed and disheartened. I just came back from a trip to Central and Southern Punjab, and looking at the plight of our farmers has made me very disheartened. These poor farmers are getting slowly slaughtered. The powerful have such choke hold over all the resources, that the poor don't stand a chance. And i am talking about landowners that own 10-12 Acres of Land, predatory lending and political choke-hold over the resources such as water is slowly ruining their lives. I have never been more disappointed in my life.

One problem I have noticed across the border is that Every Pakistani thinks Army as the only solution of all problems in there country, which can't be farther from the reality.

Its not farther from the truth because the Army is the only institution in Pakistan that has performed. When the average Pakistani looks at our civilian institutions and leaders, all they see is corruption. This is the sad reality of Pakistan.

Army should stick to the job assigned to them ie national security and keep the civil machinery do their job. And make them accountable for everything they do

I agree, and the Army couldn't be more happier if they did not have to intervene every time to save the country from the brink of disaster. Whenever something that needs to be done, the Army is always called to do the job.
