If anyone thinks there is any scandal here they will be sorely disappointed. For all the fumbles on policy and other issues, it is sad that people have yet to figure out this man's character. He is not a saint nor is he perfect, but what IK is a ghairat mand son of the soil, who isn't given easily to platitudes nor greed. Over the years his youthful ego too has subsided and he is with time becoming more of an experienced statesman. He is eons better than any other lot floating like "tu*ds" in a toilet. I hope this guy gets re-elected, with a bigger majority.

As for him being ghairat mand son of soil; the munafiq-e-aala is the complete opposite of it. Infact, one recalls the SMS that was going around a few months back about Ali Baba and 40 thieves where Ali Bata would not steal anything and would only place the 40 thieves in positions of strength and they in turn would finance the living of Ali Baba.........Honesty and integrity indeed!

Its not about National Security but about Foreign relations, remember the reaction of nation when a story of some high breed horse was transported by PAF cargo plane to an Arab country as gift highlighted in local press, and that Arab country officially shown displusser with foreign office.

As far as gifts to IK are in possession with Government Gift Depository, it must not be an issue for anyone unless IK has benefited from those gift in the same manner as the previous scandals of Zardari, NS and Gillani.

I know more about the inner workings of this government than I care to. Sadly I also know the inner workings of the previous two governments quite well (PPP more so). If I even told you 10% of what I have seen (first hand) the previous two gov (political) officials do, it will make you cynical about Pakistan. The direct corruption at the highest levels especially in the PPP government was breathtaking. And what is sad is how little concern for accountability they had. So yes IK and his government is far better than the other two lots. Now there is certainly room to criticize some of his and his governments decisions, but anyone trying to equate PTI govs corruption with the previous two has not the slightest clue of what has gone on in this country. Those past indiscretions are the gifts that in large measure give us the inflationary pressure, the deflated rupee, the deficits, and the IMF sword. Even Musharraf's era which was a liquidity infused consumption based growth has a lot to share in the overall blame.

There is no doubt that what NS and Zardari did in this matter was absolutely wrong. But the problem here is not that, but that PMIK is creating the wrong impression by hiding information about the same matter, specially when he has promised open accountability for everyone. That is the real issue here, not that he has done anything inappropriate with the gifts.

Gifts belong to the state, not IK so accountability is not the issue here at all when one state gifts to another. There has been no precedent in Pakistan for these state-to-state gifts to be declared. If IK buys the gifts, then it must be declared.

Anyways, the case is in Islamabad High Court now and taken to it by the Gov itself. Court will decide if it should declare or not, as per the Constitution!!
