There has been no precedent in Pakistan for these state-to-state gifts to be declared.
Then how were the previous shenanigans exposed?

Oh No !!
everyone knows exactly what crime took place but government in charge is not responsible for upholding law?
what does an average Pakistani get out of this?
Apparently government believes in Nawaz Sharif more than herself that it points to Nawaz for any questions asked about the country.
phir nikala hi kyon jab sare jawab nawaz ne dene hai?
Bik gayi hukomat.
Mukk gaya insaf.

Search for the answer yourself. It's not hidden.
This is not PMIK's fault. The real culprits are those who selectively release such information, and block such information, according to their own requirements from time to time, not the law, without reproach or accountability.
I did. This is why I posted this earlier:
Shenanigans related to purchase or stealing of the gifts! Gifts in possession of the state are a non-issue.
The real issue here is the non-consistency of information disclosure according to political expediency.
I think this is a fair criticism, and an unnecessary distraction that PMIK is brining on himself. Their counter argument is likely to be that "these hooligans" will make a mountain out of nothing, so these thieves are not the right party to this process. In many Western countries Ombudsman (independent), often driven such checks in an objective approach. Perhaps PTI should give this to a Federal Ombudsman this task. This way it will get the right scrutiny and also hold PTI to account which is the right thing to do.The real issue here is the non-consistency of information disclosure according to political expediency.
