ISLAMABAD – Director General of Inter Public Services Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor said government and Army are on same page and there are no differences among both.

Talking to a private TV channel, DG ISPR rejected all the rumors about rifts between government and Army. He said PM Imran and Army Chief General Qamar javed Bajwa always remain in contact.

He said both leaders meet whenever it is needed, adding that some meetings are reported and some are not.

He said it is imperative for progress of Pakistan that both remain engaged to each other.

He said Army is supporting the democratic government by fulfilling its constitutional obligation.

Wondering why the Chinese are putting pressure on Pakistan for them to let Nawaz Sharif go. this is a regime that is oppressing millions of its own people. Mao was within living memory and slaughtered tens of millions. why would they care what happens to sharif? what's their motivation?

From what I have heard, the CPEC was proposed by PPP/Zardari but the Chinese only embarked on CPEC when NS came to power. Apparently they trust/trusted NS more and therefore might have an interest in his survival. Have no evidence on this whatsoever though. One thing I have noticed is that the developments in CPEC, which previously were hyped, are quite muted under IK. If I am not mistaken IK also attempted to review CPEC investment when he came to power, which didn't go down well with the Chinese.

Chinese want yes sir type of people. Nawaz paindooo have no spine. Imran will scrutinize everything before going ahead. Chinese didn't like Imran's spine...

I say **** off to China..With Imran, they(Chinese) can be friends , not masters. Besides, their actions in Xinjiang has shown what kind of people they are. I would be very wary from now on.

Yes exactly. China or the US can f themselves if they think their intrest comes before ours. Pakistani intrests rank supreme. However, I respect compromises made by honest men for the greater/longterm good.

Business is always two sided. Every side has to look for its benefit. Can't blame China for Pakistan's incompetence. CPEC is slowed down becuse it is moving from phase 1 to phase 2. Moreover IK and his team wanted to scrap the domestic projects like Orange train to decrease the cost.

Let me just give a disclaimer for my below comment. I am not a PML-N/NS supporter. Quite the contrary actually. I would define my self as a apolitical-centralist. Bellow comments are also word of mouth from others that I came to hear.

Barring the corruption charges, what I have heard is that NS is not as pandoo or incompetent as you believe him to be. He has on several occasions attempted to be hands-on with things and has sought accountability of national institutions, which didn't go down well the corridors of our state system. In the end, he ended up on the receiving end of the accountability instead of the giving end. He definitely made some enemies in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Anyway, someone from FBR once mentioned in my presence that they collected record revenue during NS's PMship. His railway minister Khwaja Saad Rafique did a pretty good job in reviving the railway. Previously, Bilour had almost wiped the railway out not just financially but administratively also. Similarly, someone from PSO once mentioned in my presence that 'say what you will about him as a person but Ch. Nisar is actually a very good administrator (he was minister for petroleum 1997-1999).' I have seen people who are opposed to PML-N concede that Ishaq Dar is one of the best persons for the finance ministry. As for IK and his team, well, you can see the revenue, currency value, and railway management by yourself. There are things about NS that don't come up on media. I think the Chinese probably prefered him because a) he commanded popular support and b) he had better business acumen and team then others.
