ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Wednesday formed a committee headed by the finance adviser for sympathetic assessment of agriculture loan of Rs6 billion borrowed by 10,000 small farmers of Balochistan.

He was speaking to a delegation of Zamindar Action Committee in the presence of Chief Minister of Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani. The delegation presented their demands to the prime minister.

The prime minister said that the federal government would allocate more funds for revamping law and order system in Balochistan by strengthening its law enforcement agencies and building their capacity.

The salary package for the provincial police will be enhanced and will be brought at par with the Punjab police, he said.

Gilani said that extra incentives would be given to a special group of federal government officers that is being formed and would be sent on special assignments to the province.

He assured the delegation that in order to alleviate the sense of deprivation his government would take solid steps to improve the economic situation of the province.

The share of funds for Balochistan will be increased and more funds will be made available for the construction of dams and rehabilitation of internally displaced persons.

The development package for Balochistan would envision better health and education services and provision of clean drinking water, he added.

The prime minister acceded to the request of the delegation for restoring 1747 permanently disconnected tube-wells the cost of which will be borne by the Federal government.

lets have all wat gov does to solve baloch problems in this thread. To me this is also as important as our war against TTP.

Well, these steps are good but this is not genuine solution of Baloch problem. Few economic packages and sympathetic assessments of loans etc won't extinguish the fire that has spread almost all of the province after 2006 military operation in the province. Government needs to take urgent steps, if it wants to maintain unity of federation.

First thing is to eliminate the "Sense of Inferiority" that dwells in Balochi people. It is true that they have been continously denied by our Govts. Now is the time to end this. Give what they want and let it be considered as the debt of Balochistan on us.

I agree that this issue should be taken up on war basis.

Mr. Khosa it will be great if you introduce yourself in the members introduction area so that we may get aquainted. Its good to have your opinion on this matter for as a Balochi you may be the best person to comment on the situation of Balochistan.
