Well it was around 150 million dollars for 16 F-7BGI's.

BD urgently needs 4th generation fighters as it is totally outclassed by even Myanmar who have around 30 Mig-29s. I don't see how 8 Mig-29s and the 16 F-7BGI's would have a hope against these.

An urgent order for 16-24 4th generation planes need to be put in now for delivery by 2015/2016. Money needs to be found somehow.

Where's the money? I don't see delivery of 4th gen jets before 2020. Before that we have to do with upgrades of our 8 mig29s. AESA radar can also be added to our current SMT upgraded ones according to one russian article. While F7 BGI are not that bad. Monder bhalo, chole ar ki.

I wonder if we could have stayed out of BAL's retarded $1bn russian purchase scheme, may be just may be a future BNP gov would have the freedom to look for alternatives like Saab Grippen, F16 or J10. You are right as it looks like currently 4th generation jets for BAF will have to wait till 2020. Unless BD somehow finds an extra billion dollars then the jets are not affordable till then.

I disagree that the 1 billion dollar AL deal with Russia is all bad. There is nothing wrong with the speculated 16-24 YAK-130 that will come with the deal as it will allow BAF to train to use all 4th generation aircraft. Although the interest rate is not great as BD will pay 4.5% interest, Russia is willing to allow a grace period so no immediate payment is required.

BD should spend more money to buy sams. You can't outmatch iaf and against Myanmar your airforce as well as Myanmar af won't be game changer. Although don't think Russians will export you S300 or S400.

4. Used the military forces to kill so many innocent civilians
5. Armed the military forces with obsolete weapons
6. Armed the 4x corvettes with less capable C-704 AShM
7. Looted the nations money through increase in defense budget (2012-2013 def budget $1.6bl)
8. Purchased second hand obsolete 27 years old junk Frigates like Type-53H2 (introduced in PLA Navy in 1986)
9. Purchased 32 year old obsolete Castle class corvettes from UK
10. Going to introduce another second hand obsolete junkyard 42 years old Hamilton class frigate
11. Purchased 1953 designed Mig-21F3 clone F-7BGI in 2011 destroying BAF reputation
12. Destroyed funds for more needed 4+ generation fighter aircraft by procuring Junk F-7BGI
13. Used propaganda of STOP-GAP (I wonder what gap they were stopping) and delayed much needed advanced 4+ gen multirole fighter aircraft
