Still too early to say
Interesting, but i think you posted this on the wrong thread
bhai, just yesterday i spoke to someone about Kekra-1....the current operation is to Side - Track & Continue with Drilling Operation, cannot give more details ..... nothing can be said at this moment....nothing PM would boast about.....i may know some ABC of Drilling industry....
@Arsalan
I wonder if @niaz bhai can shed some more light on it.....
Zia ul Haq also announced in similar way.Guys....media is reporting; it is about oil and gas
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced that Pakistani nation will hear good news from him within three weeks of time, Geo News reported.
PM Imran Khan said this during his brief informal interaction with senior journalists at the Nur Khan Airbase on Thursday.
Imran Khan said ‘National Accountability Bureau will give exemplary punishment to big corrupt elements.” This act of NAB will correct the path of small corrupt elements, he added.
PM Imran said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has stashed billions of rupees aboard in the name of his sons.
Past government agreed on National Action Plan (NAP) but failed to implement on it, Khan regretted, adding that banned outfits should have been eliminated times ago but now PTI government was eradicating them.
Imran Khan categorically stated that no Pakistani national was involved in Pulwama attack.

Saddle up guys....our seas have something for us
Honorable balixd,
Firstly it is equally possible that the good news is not about oil & gas but something else altogether.
Secondly, the only reliable news is that Exxon has suspended drilling. We do not know the real reason.
Anyone familiar with upstream oil operations would know that usually there are 3 reasons why a drilling company suspends drilling.
1- The clay samples from drilling thus far showed no indication of hydrocarbons. Thus no point in continuing with the drilling.
2- The drill bit broke as the rumors suggest. Main reasons why the drill bit breaks are drilling at the wrong speed (too fast or too slow) or you are drilling off center or too much vibration because the drill is loose in the chuck. Neither of this indicates anything and one must continue drilling before final conclusions are reached.
3- Blow out. A blowout in oil and gas well drilling operations is a dangerous thing. There is enormous pressure of the rock formations around an oil/gas reservoir. Oil/gas accumulates over a period of millions of years, during which all of the water is compressed and pressurized out of the carbon-based substance (normally life-forms of one type or another) by the layers of sediment that form on top of it. A blow-out underwater is especially dangerous and can result in loss of life as well as of the equipment.
However a blow-out does indicate the presence of hydrocarbons, but the drilling process needs to be restarted until the reservoir is reached before the size of the deposits can be estimated. To be certain of the size of the reservoir more than one exploratory wells need to be drilled.
Because of the lack of information, it is not possible to make an informed guess. And I have already stated that I don’t believe in pure speculation. Three weeks is not a long time. I would therefore wait & hear it from the horse’s mouth.
Not true
Good example is Nigeria
Tremendous oil biggest exporter still very poor due to corruption
No amount of oil and gold will chnage Pakistan unless corruption is tackled
Chances are obviously high this is high probability area ...but chances doesnt alwsys translaes into resultThat was a comment in DAWN, you can read the article posted today, at times comments are more useful than the article.
Actually the point is EXXON MOBIL started this big venture spending about 75-100 million USD on the data received by satellite imagery that big oil and gas reserves are present in this off shore area, so chances are very high of hitting the success in three week.

it was suspended for 4 days due to maintenance of machines .I found it:

Same was said about
Same news was given 2 decades about reko diq golld mine in baluchistan.......
Which have reserves of some trillion dollors......sub kha gye soor???
Bhai thats the problem and as i highlighted in my statement its deep sea site not feasible unless its large reserve & even if you find large deposit it will take lot of time before it enter in system. Deploying Pipeline in deep is complex, expensive and will take longer time.
Very good point.
If you have read earlier discussion it would have help you to understand. So you think that they didn't plan this before drilling? that even they find the large reserve it wouldn't be easy. Remember these are no PDF company but big company drilling and do the study first before drilling.

Right...the reason PM IK has said ' good news in three weeks', he hasn't said Pakistan has hit the jackpot.
Also being cautiously optimistic is required with IMF talks in a fortnight or so, Pakistan need to leverage its strength and does't need to show it is over dependent of IMF loans...positive optics and vibes makes a lot of difference how do you get a good transaction.
"ExxonMobil returned to Pakistan after nearly a decade after surveys were carried out last year suggesting the possibility of big oil reserves within the Pakistani waters."
DAWN
I hope you know pictures taken from satellites today are so revealing and accurate that oil gas reserves, minerals, can be estimated much before initiating drills either on land or in sea. PM Imran Khan is certainly hoping and hopeful based on briefing he got from conglomerates.
