Former Glory? While I appreciate Japanese history, and am fond of military history, the decision to initiate Operation Ten Goh was the Greatest Blunder ever committed by the Empire of Japan. The military government of Japan under Tojo destroyed many lives of Japanese, Chinese, and innocent Asians , Allies.

I can't speak for Osaka, but I am quite sure it is pronounced Kankoku in Tokyo. It's possible that Nihonjin1051's Hokkaido dialect has a different pronunciation as well.

Touhuku dialect does not pronunciation that way.

Romaji some time is tricky. So I like to make it the broad way. Tokyo accent of Kankoku is misleading though it considered the standard pronunciation. Just try to read Kankoku a couple of times, you will find Goku is better.
