It is best, say the wise, to learn from the mistakes of others. These two videos, by veterans of the Falklands campaign of 1982, have a direct bearing on the situation that the Indian Army faces in Ladakh today. This may seem strange; what can there be in a campaign waged across thousands of miles by an amphibious expedition heavily dependent on naval power and a near-war situation in the high plateaux of the tail end of the Karakoram Mountains? The answer lies within the videos themselves.
