There are two things here:
Are Ahmadis Muslims Or do they project themselves as Muslims?
Should the young Sitar be extolled as an exceptionally talented Pakistani or ignored because she was born an Ahmadi?
Being a believer that our holy Prophet Mohammed ibne Abdullah (PBUH) was the last of the prophets; I would say that Ahmadis are not part of the Muslim Ummah. Yes they do project themselves as Muslims and generally considered as part of the Muslim community by the non-Muslim population.
I am however against making people sign the declaration that “Mirza Ahmed of Qadian was a false prophet and a liar…” Allah will punish all the false prophets and their followers by throwing them into hell forever and it is not up to me to insult beliefs of a particular community.
You would find intelligent s & idiots, scholars & bird-brains, honest as well as cheats among all the different strata of the population to a greater or lesser degree. Some communities such as Parsis, Memons, Vohras & Ismailies in Karachi are small in number and have a mutual help system, thus one would find greater percentage of professionals & educated members. Similarly in Punjab Ahmadi community is much smaller in number compared to the Sunnis or Shias and hence one finds less poor and higher percentage of better educated members.
This thread is not about merits or demerits of the Qadiani creed and I would like to restate that bringing religion, sect or ethnicity in judging a person's calibre is wrong.
It is not Sitara’s fault that she was born into Ahmadi community. She is still very young and worthy of praise and admiration from her countrymen for her prodigious intelligence. Only the bigots & the narrow minded will begrudge her achievement because of her being an Ahmadi.
