Girl assaults mother outside Lahore High Court

I thought this post is about the girl fighting with unknown woman I.e without cloths on her body in broad daylight on the main road !! Anyone knows what happened there ??
OT : very shameful girl whoever she is !!

. .
Everyone should behave like they should, the mother shouldn't have dragged her own child to court, the daughter should have restrained no matter how angry she is.....but blaming only the daughter is a knee-jerk reaction, those who are doing it can never be a good judge, they quickly find a scapegoat and brush aside the real problem and the problem persists.

The real problem is, you don't raise your children in a way that they raise their hands on elders and then drag them to the court for some reason....that's a deadly combination.
Why do I assume that this mother have raised her child like that?.....'cause if you have raised your child with compassion, that means you are compassionate yourself and you would never drag your child to the court no-matter what.....

Social degradation is not cured but accelerates when you try to solve these societal problems based on knee-jerk reaction without understanding them properly. If the girl is blamed/punished for this, she will think, no one is blaming the mother who caused her so much misery and her grudge against her mother will increase.
Those who are party to the knee-jerk reaction will do the same thing when put in the same situation 'cause they don't think before reacting, they are party to the social degradation process......that's the irony.......

Parents are dutied to marry their children as per children choice if choice is not apparently bad choice(money, social status and ego should be nullified). If they don't than there is no space for this hue and cry...
Its a shame for our society for the way parents acts!

.
I am confused. what should we call this act now, " khawateen py tashadud" or moral annihilation. @abdulbarijan

First of all let's call it what it obviously is i.e. physical abuse and would amount up to a battery charge in the developed world and is without a doubt a condemn able act...

However, we don't know all the variables at play here. With the talk of "moral annihilation" at play any reasonable person has to be forced to see it through the lens of both parties i.e. the girl and her mother.

So this is the usual scenario, and let us customize it to our culture

1- The girl fell in love with some guy, her family protested because they had some other guy in mind for her and she wanted to marry the guy she fell in love with because she saw some inherent characteristics, a good personality and a great work ethic etc etc.... In that case, I don't know who I'd side with, because if I'm putting myself in the shoes of the lover, I have a very strong emotional reasoning that I can also rationalize ...
However, in the same scenario If I put myself in the shoes of the parents I might see some very rational thinking and reasoning on the part of the parents ..... So I think it depends on the case in this scenario. Maybe someone with a deeper understanding can share their reasoning ...@Moonlight @Zibago @Spring Onion @Akheilos ... Your input would be appreciated ...

2- The second scenario is more clear where a girl might have fall in love with a guy because he's a good looker and stuff like that. Qualities that don't merit to much once you step in to the real world. On the other hand the parents have a good guy in mind for their daughter who belongs to a good family, has a good personality, a good work ethic etc.
In this case siding with the family is alot easier however, the one saying "qabool hai" still has the final decision in his/her hand.
Now if the girl has brought this guy up in her discussion with her family as a potential partner and has asked them to consider him and they completely disregard her opinion and then she goes out and performs a court marriage. Well I do think there are some moral considerations in place speaking from a cultural perspective ---- however it pales in comparison to a girl just going off on her own performing a court marriage behind her folks back without even letting them know anything.

3- The third scenario is the dangerous one ... where the dirty side of our society shows its ugly face. Many times marriages are performed solely for the purpose of gaining wealth. There are observable cases with the culprits belonging from the boy's side of the family and there are also cases where the culprits are from the girl's side of the family. Some times girls themselves are gold diggers. Sometimes boy's get too taken in by a girl's beauty. Just working off stereotypical situations here ....

In this case serious moral issues are there where the ultimate goal is simply the lust for a body or for some coin ....

My take on this whole marriage issue as a guy and a bachelor myself is ...
-First of all ... DONT ... DO NOT ... fall in love before marriage :D ...

-If you do ... Fall in love with someone with a good heart and a humble personality... instead of someone with a pretty face or a "hot bod" as most immature kids do these days ...

-If your sure that you are in love with someone .... as a guy ... then it's time to grow a pair and talk to the folks.Convince them your ready to take the big step. If they don't agree ... (usually cuz they think that their kid is young and immature and its a phase) ... time to become a man and get a job ... start taking responsibility and show them that you've matured ...

-Convince your parents ... then you go visit ... Ask her parents ... Give them enough breathing room to clear you and your family by asking around as is common practice. Most likely the decision will be in your favor ...

and if not ... no need to hang your head down ... there are 7 billion inhabitants of this planet ... half of them the other gender ... You'll get someone don't worry :D

Nope ... I tried to establish that in my first line .... physical violence is condemn able.... should not be resorted to ... and is outlawed in most modern states where the offense is "battery" and is punishable under law .... and yes there are serious moral factors at play when you go about hitting your own parents ..

However, as children / parents ... our approach should be more geared towards problem solving. If a girl likes a boy or vice versa and expresses interest in front of his/ her family. Time to pick up the phone as a parent and call the other party. Hold meetings, if there are some issues ... raising them politely and if you can iron them out ... then do so ... Give it your all and hope for a good result. Similarly if your a kid, who is in love. Raise it with your parents. Strongly consider their opinions regarding the matter and provide your input.

A good test is, if your a guy who claims to be in love ... imagine if your beloved had a horrible accident ... leaving her with scars and damaging her beauty .. Would you still love her as you do now ?:azn:

Similarly, for a girl that claims to be in love ... imagine your beloved had a horrible accident ... and he couldn't work anymore ... and provide for you the comfort, time and lifestyle like he did before ... would you still love him as you do now ? :azn:

what I think is that she exercised her Islamic right to choose the partner of her choice.no matter what her parents have no right to drag her into court.it is situations like this where we have to decide what do we value more our culture or our religion.
Coming to the second point slapping her mom was plain wrong and there is no justification for this act.

.
not going to approve what girls did to her mom.but who drags their children to court for love marriage.
and the guy suggesting that village elders should be involved in marriage.someone tell these guys that the couple is well within its Islamic rights to choose their partner for them self without the consent of third party.so keep your nose where it belongs.
whats your views guys @Zibago @The Sandman @Moonlight @django
Didn't got the notification for it sry for the late reply now
OT As others said Lakh di lanat on that girl no seriously how can you even think of slapping your own mother but at the same time it shows the upbringing of her so i won't totally put the blame on girl.
said that freewill marriages should be conducted after mutual consultation of the elders or village council, which will help reduce such incidents in the future.
and this is a terrible suggestion

Yes people , some issues need a discussion , but everything is not worth time
It is already in the "Social & Current events"

. . .
But Too Many Issues are being discussed here which has nothing to do with this being a defence forum
As i said this is in appropriate section and there are so many members who're interested in sections other than defence not everyone is an expert in jets, tanks, guns etc :p and people can always ignore these sections.

Yeah same thing is happening to me too.
webby ko tag krein phr? :p

I have to say I'm pretty mortified. Are we bringing this to parents now. Really?

Firstly, how do we know that it was the Mother who took her to court? It says 'she approached her before court proceedings'.

Secondly, even IF her mother took her to court, what makes it acceptable to raise your hand on a Woman that bore you for 9 months, taught you how to sit, walk and talk?

Thirdly, there's absolutely no question or doubt in mind what she did is a lowly act of raising her hand on her parent. This wasn't an act of 'defence', this was intentional harming fuelled with anger. WALK AWAY.

You don't need to be a 'Pakistani' to understand how wrong this is, it's a law of nature belonging to every race be it Chinese, Afghan, Turkish, Arabic, Indian, Bengali, White or Black. It's SO wrong.

Blame the parents for how she is? She's a grown up woman whose capable enough to know her rights on Marriage and fully knowledgable on that, her parents raised her well enough to be able to understand that but at a point of attack their responsible? It's 'their' fault?

No.

She's within her right of choosing and selecting her spouse, a right given to her as a human, citizen and a member of Faith. It doesn't make her disobedient towards her parents for excericising her rights. I'll give her that.

But can we STOP making excuses and normalising it to be 'OK' to abuse parents. There's no justification for it.

One day when she will be a Mother herself, she will come to know and I beg to God the tables don't turn.

Anger fades, action remain.
