Sis, no need to be so apologetic with these Afghans dancing on Indians' tunes....It is nice to see Afghans are distancing themselves from us which is good thing and every Pakistani wanted.....

As a Urdu speaking and living in Karachi, I have idea what these Afghans did to our country and our city....No doubt there re some hard working people among them but also are criminals, drug and weapon mafia which harmed our city, province and country...

They will soon come into their senses when we will kick their *** and send all afghan refugees back....

Remember What Hazrat Ali (R.A) said:-

Jis pe ahsan karo us k shar se bacho......We did a lot for these and we got nothing except hatred and enmity...

From where you get a clue that I am a SIS :( well i am not :-)
You are truly right about Afghans and what they doing in karachi but all they did and doing is in under our State Umbrella which i know pretty well.
Secondly we cant afford Afghanistan as our enemy, if and if i am a CIA agent or RAW i definitely want Pakistan to waste its energy by fighting with Afghans and if Pakistan follows what they want then I must raise questions on my Pakistan ability to think.
So we dont need to waste our time in Afghanistan and Infact we should make them understand and allows them to sit in our side otherwise I believe that anti-Pakistan Afghanistan will be the biggest problem of Pakistan which i dont want.
Yes we should send strong signals by closing borders or fence the border. But we need to help common afghans and make sure that Pushtuns of Afghanistan will be on our side which they are currently. Non pushtuns or parsiwans are closer to India and we need to neutralize them.

F**K Afghani wh*res, they are speaking Indian tone. Pakistan should kick out Afghan refugees asap & close the border for good.

Personally I would like to see Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran and China working together. We could gain so much from China and India, in return India gets access to 200 Million Pakistanis. That's quite a big market, Pakistan too could gain a lot and maybe be able to get niche spot in Indian markets. . But we'll have to wait around 50 100 years until that is even remotely possible.

It's a very remote possibility, if india and pakistan improves and indian TCS,Infosys monster campuses in pakistan cities,Indian automobiles like Bajaj,TVS,Tata,Indian made BMW,Bharat Benz trucks,Fords,Volkswagen etc plying on pakistan roads, indian multi billion dollar pharma companies in pakistan, indian hospital chains in pakistan and doctors so that pakistan need not come to india for advance treatment, indian companies developing pakistan airports, rail metros etc...

Pakistan should announce for referendum in Pushtoon area in Afghanistan to join Pakistan.

I think I got confused because of your dp...:-)

Yes, I agree with your post, bro. :agree:

a country whose population generally resides out of its own land.

Realpolitik in play :)

Lots of negative emotions in ur post my friend, it's a tit for tat, no hard feelings ;)

He didn't mention anything about taking back all his people in millions who live in Pakistan. Or did I miss something?

Central Asia can be accessed through Karakorum Highway.

Ghanis threat therefore is meaningless. Further Pakistan's largest trade partners lie elsewhere, hence any Afghani attempt at closing transit routes will only have a negligible impact on Pakistan.

Pakistan can bypass Afghanistan to Central Asia via China...

--------------------

Who says Pakistan cant afford it ? Yes we can afford it , dont need to build whole fence in 1 year, but in 10 years for instance. Else Afghans will carry on destabilizaing Pakistani areas of KPK & Balochistan through separatists. Or attacks & criminality deep inside Pakistan. Do you want that , in my opinion this investment is worth doing.

Pakistan is not the first country fencing the border.

If Pakistan dont stop movement across this border Pakistan will never become a stable country as it used to be before afghans started coming to Pakistan.
I agree fencing this long border is very difficult task but not impossible and its in best interest of Pakistan

Domestic consumption maybe be part of it but slowly there are other routes being put in place, whether they can completely replace Pakistani routes is to be seen.

of course -- Afghanistan is a "land linked country" -- Afghanistan does not need Pakistan and vice-a-versa

The question is of marginal cost -- which in Afghanistan's case has always been high

Ghani sab, perhaps unwittingly, talks about the Afghan predicament:

If you read the article "Open Wagah or lose transit route, Ghani warns Pakistan", which has a more detailed transcript of what Ghani sab said, let me quote:

Afghan sources insist that Afghan goods, mostly fresh fruits go up to Wagah but then it is not allowed to go up to Attari. “It is offloaded in Wagah and then carried in carts up to Attari and loaded on again. This adds to transportation cost as well as to a significant spoilage,” an Afghan source said.

“We have asked that our goods mostly fresh fruit be allowed to go up to Attari and then transferred to Indian trucks in a back to back arrangement. This alone can reduce cost and spoilage to an extent that will make our export of fruit to India double or triple,” he said.

Now, you can see that by offloading it at Wagha, pushing the produce across the border in carts and loading it onto Indian trucks costs -- according to Ghani sab -- (though I think he's exaggerating) costs Afghanistan a loss of 200% (from the projected optimal trade volume). Again by having to push the fruit for a few hundred meters already going along the optimal route causes a loss of 200% to Afghanistan.

Now I'm no logistics expert but let's just apply common sense:

1. What do you think the spoilage and lost opportunity will be for Afghanistan to take it over land to Chabahar, load it onto ships, Ship it to Mumbai, offload it from Ships and then proceed to say the original destination: Amritsar in Punjab [a traditional market for Afghan fresh produce]

2. Now just think about taking this fruit by Air Cargo to India (I mean have Afghans lost their minds) ??

3. Now Pakistan can easily go through Iran into CARs-- which is just a few hundred kilometers and a secure route.

4. The CAR markets are a fraction of the size the Indian market is.

So my dear younger brother @A-Team -- just a simple application of common sense. Pakistan just needs to add a differential cost of %20 to make whole sectors of Afghan industries and economic output uncompetitive -- here you can see by Ghani sab's own admission Pakistan is causing a loss of 200% (which I say again is exaggerated -- I would suspect the loss would be in the range of 15% to 20%).

Realpolitik is "interests based" -- and I've always said -- Afghanistan had a much better deal with Pakistan -- Pakistanis never asked for an interest based deal -- if they had -- Afghan refugees would not have been able to live as Paksitani citizens for 40 years.

Now the good news is that an interest based deal is not so bad either -- Pakistan can certainly thrive -- possibly Afghanistan can too

But a stupidity based deal which the Afghan government and people have set their path on will lead to Afghan misery. The 80s and 90s are a reflection of that -- and remember all of today's Afghan elite was still instrumental in the 80s and 90s -- the turbans have changed but the people are the same.

Again common sense is called common sense -- in that it's not the domain of solely wise men -- but this is sheer stupidity [in the realpolitik lens]

In ideal situation the region would benefit greatly by having full mesh connectivity but this is not the ideal situation and I am afraid we will end up in competing visions such as those backed by one side or the other i.e. China, India, Iran and others.

My dear, ask yourself this -- out of 70 years since independence: for how many years has India allowed Pakistan or Nepal or Bangladesh or Bhutan to trade with each other via a land corridor? So please at least be honest.

Do you think China would want India to get access to CAR natural resources?

In exchange of 70 years of access to Pakistani ports and other freebies -- Afghanistan is now threatening closure of access to CARs -- maybe you see some wisdom in that I don't?

Bhani u don't have balls to block our trade RUSSIA this time will **** u hard and we help them do it

Fact is you die miserable death with starvation

CPEC will bring you in your knees China russia turkey **** you from all cylinders

How about you close Central Asia route and we close all the borders. Infact after CPEC there would be no need for access to central Asia through Afghanistan and btw Afghanistan will always remain a landlocked country either they will to be dependent on Pakistan (Which they are now) or alternate is Iran. either way you will remain a little boy who is dependent on others.

The sooner the Pashtun folks break away and join their original brethren in Pak the better. While joining they need to grab as much land as possible specially the important trade routes. They simply have no future with these Northern Aliance thugs. Creation of Pak means an eventual dissolution of Afganistan since an isolated Afganistan makes no sense and will always be a cause of trouble...
