Well if you consider this project as troll - its a huge success.

If you consider this project as propaganda for internal consumption - thats also a big success. Look at Iranians on forum. 90% of them cheer. And this is educated part with access to internet. What about majority who know nothing?

China which has an economy that is 11 time's bigger than yours, and a R&D budget that's bigger than your entire Military budget, vastly more engineers than you could ever imagine is having trouble building a reliable 4th generation Military engine, and lets not speak of let 5th gen, and that's why too this day they are still buying our engines, despite what some Chinese cheerleaders may say. We are equipping our own jet engine for J-11B, while using the AL-31F for the older aircrafts like J-11A and Su-30MKK.

Iran may have the project for their own jet engine.

Yep, Russia's military technology is quite good, but keep in mind your technology is not the alien technology, it is not impossible for other humans on this planet to catch up.

If this stealthy fighter jet is made to tailor for defending and attacking in the Persian gulf, than it is a very potent fighter aircraft, Tiny small!, no, it is about the size of an F-5 fighter jet or even a bit bigger, watch the video again and look up the proportions when the crowd is bit farther from the airplane.
No radar?, than the F-5 has none too! Do not forget that Iran is very advanced in nano-technologies, meaning, they can miniaturise things including a radar's components, and produce carbon fiber for the body of the plane to make it lighter and heavily resistant to big payloads, and not to forget fuel efficiency and easiness of maintenance. For the engine and depending on the variants and roles of the airplane, Iran can easily reverse engineer many potent engines found in the F-4, the F-14, the Mig-29 and so on...
For this role it can only be matched by the F-22 which costs at least a hundred million to produce, at this price Iran might be able to manufacture 15 F-313, and with 300 of these little fighters, Iran's skies are immune to the most advanced fighter jets in the world, because they can not see this little bird till it is too late for them, or not see it at all.
For an attack role in the perimeter of the Persian gulf it is still more potent due to its stealthiness.
So, when they say it is ultra advanced, you better believe them, Iran already produces very advanced helmets _found in the F-22_ and many advanced avionics including AESA radar that they showed a big air defence version of last year.
So all in all this can be a frog leap in middle eastern aviation history and to the benefit of Iran. This reminds one of a British high ranking politician, looking very worried about a nuclear head design that Iran supposedly worked on, and saying, that Iran can't have that and he added blatantly that Iran should work on things like that in a chronological manner like the west did !!! or else...!
To come back to this little marvel named Qaher 313, I find it in line with the Iranian doctrine of defence.

To be honest, except comparing with the US, most of the Russian military technologies are still quite decent.

But i don't think it is untouchable, if China can do it, then Iran can definitely do it.

ITEM 1) I disagree that it is a cassette player. It can be many different things but not a cassette player. It has a digital display on it and no slot for cassette or CD.

ITEM 2) The max speed is 300 knot not 100 or 200 as mentioned by some posters.

It's not that Iran does not wish to buy Russian planes, it's more like Iran can't buy russian jets, because Rusia wont sell them to Iran. And if we talk about modern defence industry, than we can say that Russian tech has always been top notch in almost every segment.

I respect Iran, but they still have to prove that they are advanced enough to develop a fourth generation fighter, not 4+, but just 4 generation. And they never said that this is 5 generation fighter, they only said that it will have a small RCS. They still don't have a fourth generation turbofan engine, not to mention a fifth generation one, and that is not the only problem. Just look at the cockpit i have seen basic trainers with more advanced cockpits than this one.

For example: Pilatus PC-21 turboprop trainer

And as far as we can see this will be a subsonic aircraft, so it most probably won't have a role of the fighter jet.

You must be mistaking US space program with ours their. German scientist were all sent home by 1950, 7 years before the Flight of Sputnik. While their space program was headed by a captured German scientist.
