Germany have been spying on most Muslim countries and was cut in the act many times. Be it in Iraq, Syria, Iran, North Africa and many more places. They also seem to be the most active and the boldest.
No one can justify it with economical related spying since they were electronically spying on military frequencies in Syria for example.
Now it seems that while Turkey is diversifying its armament technologies, it became a legitimate target of German and most probably NATO spying led by Germans.
The fact that they are supplying Usrael with sophisticated submarines and other war boats, and refusing to sell the much lower tech submarines of Type 209 to Saudi Arabia says a lot about their policies.

we can blame Germany as much as we want, but which country wouldnt like to know what is happening among their neighbors or countries of interest? Instead of trusting our neighbors or some important countries on 'alliances', Turkey too should send spies there and i bet MIT is already active in interesting countries for Turkey.

Where I made my military service was a radar base in South.. It was a small campus which contains 3-4 buildings, training area, target practice etc for daily life of soldiers... The most striking thing about that place was the shapes of antennas and locations, that was just weird. We have been told that this multi-million dolar system has ability to spy on everywhere to Pacific from Atlantic and there are 2 more units just like this in Turkey(!). Once we had an electricity issue even with generators and I remember that we got a call from Ankara HQ for asking what's wrong over there. But our main purpose was to spy on N.Iraq.. All of the soldiers were able to speak at least 1 foreign language. Unranked troops only allowed to get inside the buildings for cleaning under officers' supervising that was all we are doing.. We were ameles of officers.. Once I have been allowed inside for cleaning and I saw dozens of maps all of our neighbors' army orders and marked targets on maps.. It was a weird place full with electronic systems etc.. So, shortly guys, I have full confidence with our army.. There are lot of things we don't know about.. They spy on us, we spy on them.. intelligence, counter-intelligence... That's how it works..
At least I know that Germans were never an ally to us...
