Klimkin: Ukraine may get visa-free regime in 2016| Ukrinform

KYIV, May 22 /Ukrinform/. If Ukraine receives a positive assessment of the European Commission on implementation of the visa liberalization plan by the end of 2015, the political decision on visa-free regime can be taken in 2016.

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said this in Riga on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"We need to complete all the necessary reforms and to receive positive conclusions by the end of this year in order to get the visa-free regime in 2016," the minister said.

He stressed that Ukraine did serious work in this direction, in spite of the difficult situation and Russian aggression.

KYIV, May 22 /Ukrinform/. Ukraine and Georgia may get a visa-free regime with the European Union in the near future after the fulfillment of certain criteria.

EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn said this at the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"The draft declaration says that if Ukraine and Georgia fulfill important requirements, the visa-free regime with the EU is possible in the near future," the commissioner said.

He added that the main prerequisite for Ukraine and Georgia to receive the visa-free regime included positive findings in the European Commission report, which would be made public by the end of 2015.

I am not citizen but legal rezident of Ukraine. 13 years i am living here. Between West Ukrainians and Polaks no difrence.In history same culture, same language.

East Ukraininan(where is the war) also speaks in village Ukranian language , also they have Ukrainian culture. But Russian Imperia and USSR pressed them, they lossed their culture. In East Ukraine young people speaks only in Russian. For them Ukrainan Language for the poor and village people.

Corruptions dont reason of integration with EU.

In 1998 i was in Bulgaria and Romania which are most dangerousus country in the Europe. Bulgarian Police Officers extorsions were very famous.
Romania also was in the trouble corruption.
Now 2 worst country in the EU.

Romania was unprepared for the EU and you're talking about admitting a country (Ukraine) with a GDP per capita 2.5 times lower than Romania and that before the war.Westerners are not that suicidal.

Now Romanian safest country but i am talking about 20 years ago In 1996 i was in the Bucharest, and Kurdish terorists had a office in the centr of the Bucharest. In 1996 i gave to money to Romanian Police and ROmanian Mafia.

"Eastern Europe" is an artificial term denoting only countries that used to be Communist, not those with a common culture and history. Greece for example is not classified as Eastern European even though it is far more "Eastern" in culture than are countries like Poland and the Baltic states.
As more former Communist countries develop the prejudice will lessen. English people for example used to consider the Irish inferior because of their poverty and many in Northern Europe used to look down on Spanish and Portugese.

After the end of second World war, Germany was divided into West and East and from that time only it become Western and Eastern Europe and during the heights of the Cold war it continued , this term is being used since decades.
