German Chancellor invites PM Modi to G7 Summit

"The first intergovernmental discussions of this government have taken place with India. For me, this is a sign of a special quality of relationship... I am delighted that your first trip after a long time without travel is to Germany... And truthfully, we would be happy to have you back as our guest soon... I invite you as our guest at the G7 summit," Olaf said during the joint briefing.

The German Chancellor further said, "During our the India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations (IGC) we also discussed a number of global issues. These consultation help us deepen our relationship. India is among our very important partners in Aisa- in economic terms, security policy terms, and climate politics terms." Hailing India's achievements, he added, "The world can only develop well if we are clear as to the fact that future relations in the world will be characterised and marked by many countries, not by a few powerful countries."

He also took a moment to talk about the Russia-Ukraine war. "Through its attack on Ukraine, Russia has violated fundamental principles of international law. The war & the brutal attacks against the civilian population in Ukraine show how unrestrained Russia has been in violating the fundamental principles of the UN Charter," he said

"Holding of the IGC shows how much importance we place in our strategic ties. The last IGC took place in 2019, and since then, the world has undergone massive transformation. COVID-19 has posed affected the global atmosphere, and so has the recent geo-political changes," PM Modi said.

The Indian Prime Minister added, "We had said that talks are the only way to solve the Ukraine crisis. We believe that no one will be a victorious party in this war. Everyone will incur loss, and that is why we are on the side of peace. Because of the havoc caused by the war, the price oil is skyrocketing, there is a scarcity of fertilizers. Every family in the world is getting burdened by this but developing and underdeveloped countries will be the main losers here."

Coming to talks with Germany, PM Modi said, "Today we are launching the Indo-German partnership on Green and sustainable development. Germany has decided to support the green growth plan of India with an additional development aid of 10 billion euros till 2030. We've announced setting up a green hydrogen task force."

He exuded hope that the collaboration of experience of India and Germany in this field and the others, will benefit both the countries.

China propping up Russia was a real wake up call for many people in Europe. India isn't perfect but manufacturing should be relocated there slowly even if initial costs of setting up factories is high.

Not only India, but Indonesia is also invited to G7 meeting in Germany

Do you have any idea what you are saying? India's attitude and policy to Russia are not different than China's. How come same altitude from different country leads to different results for Europeans?

These Indians have no clue the traps laying in waiting for them set up by Europeans and Amerikans. They are contend that the ''whites'' that used to rule them are talking nice to them to soothing their ego. India thinks it can played both side, but in geopolitic game, factors like political size, economic size and militairy size on global level does matter which India does not have.

Can you imagine the level of big mouth/arrogance attitude displayed by India before the Russian's invasion of Ukraine? Before the war they were quite and focus only on regional's problems. But after the Ukraine-Russian war, they think that India is the most desired country in the word. India thinks that western countries want to be their best friend forever and they hope India will ditch Russia/China. Hence the arrogance attitude India displayed to the West because India thinks it can afford it as long the West need India. The question is: how long will India''s attitude will be tolerated by both side?

India is guillible. The dangers waiting for them is that by trying to be neutral and eating both side of the rice bowls, they risk the ire of the West and Russian/China which in the end will end badly no matter what. Does India really thinks the Western nations have only the best for India? A non christian nation? Laughable. There is no way the West will allow India to grow powerful like China. The West sure have learnt their lessons from China's rising.

The best scenario for the future is that Russia is finally acknowledging that bringing India into SCO was a terrible idea and fixing it by agreeing with China to kick India out of the China/Russia international initiatives/organisation like Brics, SCO etc. As long as India is part of the China/Russian organisations, the organisation will not function well because every member know the risk of India as (Western) trojan horse.

India's future lies with the West and not Asia. It is simple as that. The sooner India realises it the better it is for all geo political parties involved.

More baits are coming. India is probably enjoying it quite a bit. :)

Agree. India is a short sighted country. It should keep low profile if it wants to be neutral. But India is making profit from both sides. This is pure small country mindset.

Wait to see if India will attend G7 summit or not.

If Modi is smart, she better decline it.

It is a trap.

It is an invitation to India to join the group against Russia.

The choice is for Modi to make.

Beginning with a demand by G7 rich nations for India to STOP all her OIL import from Russia.

India is just like a women everybody wants to marry.

And India is dancing around the trees playing hard to catch.
