What's new

General Kayani's full speech at PMA Kakul

Of course. There will be no dictatorship in Pakistan unless the Army decides for us that there needs to be a dictatorship. Just like always. So what is the news here?

Prolly you are right, considering our past. But now I believe things have got changed a bit, rather than wishes army would need a very very strong reason for intervention. So depends on politicians.

I hope things have changed too, but when you have imperious power, it is very easy to rationalize that you must use it in a given set of circumstances, as being for the good of the country.

Army wouldn't bother rationalize if civilians remain rational in their behavior and actions. Things as long as are good give no reason to anyone to rationalize anything.

You are correct Sir, that for a nation to prosper, all of its components must shoulder their own respective responsibilities. However, at the same time, the ability of one component to hold other components at gunpoint when it feels like it, however rationalized, is what has led to the misuse of authority in the past.

Please note that I am not supporting or going against any one in particular.
