Gen VK Singh likely to resign after loss in court

VK Singh a very professional general but he will only be known for his fight against the gov't in the SC i think it is time for him to step down and let Bikram Singh take the position of COAS.

.
The man has done what he can but it is well and truly over on the age front. The fact is he allowed the age issue to go unresolved when it suited him for promotion but only questioned it right at the very end of his distinguished career when he really should have down it at the very start. He is the one who has brought honour and dignity into the equation. He is the one who took the unprecidented move to take his bosses to court whilst still in active service, he is the one who has caused any potential rift in the IA. If anyone it is he who has made his position untenable. And if IA defence deals are now delayed that is only his fault for which the rest of the IA have to pay for a long time, after all whenever he will retire he will fade into the background with a very nice pension whilst these guys could have to deal with the impact of these delays.

Despite a very clear smear campaign (for whatever reason) going on against Lt Gen Bikram Singh (ancient J&K encounter questions only now being raised and now saying his accession has been planned for years and years and years- utter BS) it seems the rightful heir will get the throne (forgive the analogy).

At the end of the day these guys are true professionals soldiers who just by getting to where they are have proved their mettle and right to serve as COAS so it is really irrelevant who ends up in the seat.

.
So the incoming CoAS will be the 2nd Sikh to head IA.

Yeah, do you have a problem with that??

As the going in IA says- you have no caste, no creed, no colour, no religion- you are all from now on GREEN!

Don't see conspiracies that aren't there and don't imagine divisions that don't exist.

Indian army inter-faith temple

all temples in IA are 100% inter-faith and all soldiers celebrate/pray together respecting all religions with no problem.

I hope Bikram Singh is not the Government Yes Man that NAK Browne is and Deepak Kapoor was.

I really respected VK Singh for standing up against the crappy government. He and ex-ACM Naik were there to strongly support men in uniform against this egoistic government. Now Admiral Verma is going to be alone if Lt. Gen. Bikram is not independent person.

so he is going to resign ? opppps why he did all this he should try soft way and finish his term rather then all this SC and GOI mess.

He thought he could win. He took his case to the SC after being disappointed from all the offices of the Army and GoI.

Guys !!

The reason Supreme Court gave such a verdict is because any ruling favouring the General would have indirectly indicted the GoI of misgivings which was never the case. The GoI came into the picture very very late.

IMO, V.K.Singh should retire in peace. Every Indian is proud to have him as the General of it's Army. Let the sceptor be passed on to the next in command.
