The last thing Americans would want are bodybags coming to America from the Middle East, especially not during an election year. Biden has already to answer for the 13 US Marines killed in Kabul in August 2021 and that may, along with the US economy, losing the Muslim vote, really really sink his reelection.

I am eagerly waiting for President Macron’s response. The honour of France is at stake. If he dont respond properly he should resign what a humiliation that would be.
