That could be one of the biggest fallouts of this conflict, the rise of China as the preferred partner for many countries in the global south and a rebalancing (50/50) of contracts for everything by the GCC between the collective west and China. Leaving these flashpoints unresolved open up opportunities for an ascendant power like a China to remake the global order. For China, it could make them feel they have the opportunity to have the global clout to be seen as resolving disputes in their own way, and finally end the legacy of the century of humiliation, by resolving one of the largest conflicts where the British took land and gave it to people coming from the west such as with Hong Kong.
