WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION: Moving severely ill people in Gaza a 'death sentence'
Evacuating severely ill people from northern Gaza amounts to a "death sentence", the World Health Organisation has said.
Hospitals in Gaza are at "breaking point" and the local health ministry has informed the WHO it is impossible to evacuate vulnerable patients from northern Gaza, the organisation said.
"There are severely ill people whose injuries mean their only chances of survival is being on life support, such as mechanical ventilators," spokesman Tarik Jasarevic said.
"So moving those people is a death sentence. Asking health workers to do so is beyond cruel."
