HAHAHA, you're the one hating gay marriage and I am the one who is blind and brain washed, strange. Please understand the difference between incest, and homosexuality, one is not same as the other one. And by the way polygamy is allowed in several religions, so I dont understand the argument how exactly that would destroy society.
When did I say it would destroy society? Now you are delusional as well.I don't give a fack to gays, not my bussiness.Society won't be destroyed even some guys officially married with dog or snake.

You are so stupid, what does consent and adulthood have to do with what I have said? Can't a son being adult?Or you mean Polygamy can't be consented?
Oh, that comment was meant for another guy who mentioned pedophilia and necrophilia.

Well, to you then: There isnt a danger of producing children with genetic defects, death births etc etc among homosexual couples.... they are just enjoying themselves.

Nor is there anything wrong with polygamy... its just another form of living together and is practiced in several nations

Marriage is not a form of living together. The fundamental difference between living together and marriage is the safety and survival of children. The only reason that almost all cultures have some form of marriage and that it has survived for thousands maybe tens of thousands of years is because it is the most successful model to protect and allow children to survive.

The basic difference between homosexual marriage and polygamy is that gay marriage is an extension and continuation of one of the major forces in recent history - EQUALITY. It is simply an extension of the same thinking that outlawed slavery, gave women the vote, gave children certain fundamental rights etc. equality is now being extended to gay couples. It is a modernizing influence.

Polygamy on the other hand is the opposite, it gives more rights to the man and less to the woman. Generally the man can take more than one wife but this is denied to the woman. So the woman and her children are is in competition for the attention of the man. In fact in societies that allow a man to take more than one wife, the punishment for the woman if she takes more than one man is severe. Polygamy is a regressive influence.

Polyamory where any number of consenting adult permutations are allowed, is very deleterious to children, which is the basic raison d'être for marriage in the first place. Children's rights come into conflict with adult consent. Children do best where their biological father and biological mother take care of them for long periods of time. Any society where the majority of children are not brought up this way will have problems.

I agree, the example for polygamy (=The kind which is practiced in some Islamic countries) is indeed putting the man into a higher position.

But polygamy is an extremely broad term and does not only refer to kind of family mentioned above. There are also relationships in which all genders are treated as equals and it can obviously also mean that a woman has more than on husband.

As for your point that children do best when their biological parents take care of them:
IDK about children with more than two partners, but whats more important is the actual care and love the child receives from its parents.
There have been various studies concerning homosexual parents which found that their children dont have any negative side effects compared to children from normal couples.

“Consensus is overwhelming in terms of there being no difference in children who are raised by same-sex or different- sex parents,” University of Oregon sociology professor Ryan Light said on Tuesday.
No difference in kids with same-sex, opposite-sex parents: study| Reuters

But then again, I couldnt find anything about polygamous relationships.

.
It's too early to make a call on whether children brought up with two same sex parents suffer any disadvantage.Children openly brought up by gay parents are a fairly new phenomenon and such parents are often well educated and politically aware, huge advantages to children. I think the truth, whatever it may be, will surface in a generation or so. I suspect that kids brought up by gay parents will do very well because they are all of them planned babies, no accidents , and gay adoptive parents are probably put to a much higher level of scrutiny than heterosexual parents. They may however have their own unique concerns and maybe some kind of special advice will be made available for them.

However, I stand by my statement that for society to remain vibrant and energetic the MAJORITY of children should be brought up by their biological father and mother in a long term relationship. Any society that in the pursuit of equality goes against what evolution has done over millions of years will be less successful. The human instinct to provide the best for their children is very strong. The sacrifices made by parents are completely incredible and one sided. A mother who eats less so her child can go to school, or parents who do terrible hard jobs so that their children can have a better life are displaying INSTINCTIVE evolutionary behavior. So long as these parents are in the MAJORITY social norms will persuade adoptive parents, step parents etc to MODEL their behavior on this but their own instincts towards someone else's child will never be as strong.

@Koovie It is too early to make a call on whether children brought up by two same sex parents suffer any dis-advantage. Children openly brought by gay parents are a fairly new phenomenon and such parents are often well educated, committed and politically aware, all huge advantages to the child. I think the truth, whatever it may be, will take a generation or so to surface. I suspect that kids brought up by same sex parents will do very well as long as society remains accepting. After all they can have no accidental babies, all babies are planned and wanted. There is probably also higher scrutiny of Gay adoptive parents than of heterosexual parents. Such children will probably have their own unique concerns, like maybe not having a same sex role model and maybe some kind of special advice will be formulated for gay parents.

I do, however, stand by my stAtement that for society to remain energetic and vibrant the MAJORITY of children should be brought up by their biological parents in a long term relationship. Any society that in the pursuit of increasing equality goes against what evolution has done over millions of years will be less successful. Much of human behavior towards children is INSTINCTUAL. the sacrifices made by parents are one sided, unequal and made only for the happiness and well being of the child. So long as these parents are in the MAJORITY, social norms will persuade adoptive parents to MODEL their behavior on this but an adoptive parent or step parent will not usually havre the same feelings towards someone else's child

I notionally agree with the principle of letting people do what they wish as long as it doesn't impact others in a nagative way.

That said.....the institute of marriage between two same sex adults should not be given same rights as the institute of marriage between a man and a woman. As the latter brings "assets" to the nation via children and the former just plugs holes....and fills emergency rooms for reasons like "rectal tearing".
I am also against the right for gay couples to adopt children. I think it's akin to moral blasphemy....they can't have one of their own because they're gays and lesbos but want that ultimate prize one gets for enduring in a heterogeneous relationship.

Nathan Collier said he was inspired by the recent Supreme Court decision that made marriage equal. He said he was particularly struck by the words of dissenting Chief Justice John Roberts who claimed giving gay couples the right to marry, might inspire polygamy.

And so this week, Mr Collier and his two wives, Victoria and Christine, entered a courthouse in Billings, Montana, and sought an application to legalise the trio’s polygamous union.

“Right now we're waiting for an answer," Mr Collier told The Independent. “I have two wives because I love two women and I want my second wife to have the same legal rights and protection as my first.”

He added: "Most people are not us. I am not trying to define what marriage means for anybody else - I am trying to define what marriage means for us."

The practice of bigamy - holding multiple marriage licences - is outlawed in all 50 of the US states, Montana among them. But Mr Collier said he planned to sue if his application was denied.

Mr Collier said he was former Mormon who had been excommunicated for polygamy and now owned a refrigeration business in Billings.

He married his first wife, Victoria, 40, in 2000. The 46-year-old, who appeared in the reality TV show Sister Wives, held a religious ceremony to marry second wife, Christine, in 2007 but did not sign a marriage license to avoid bigamy charges.

His first wife, Victoria, said that she and her husband's second wife got along "like sisters".

"We're like any family. There are good days and there are bad days," she said. "But there are more good days."

Asked how she felt when her husband took a second wife, she said: "How can you know who you are going to fall in love with? This is our destiny."

Are you intellectually capable enough to understand the terms consent and adulthood?
From where you guys brought your magical 18 years old ? What is adulthood age?

Why you think polygamy have any conflict with adulthood and consent.

Why age of consent is different in different countries if its so naturally set?

Your comments didn't stated why age of consent can't be 12 or 14 or 16 year instead of 18 year ? And if the consent is important why just like when a person at the time of his life consent that they use its organ for donations he cant consent that they use his or ger body for something else ?

is a 9 year old girl fair game ?
It was fair game several centuries ago if im not wrong?
The question is not why 18 the question is while peoples are different and you cant find 2 people who mature mentally socially and bodily why set a fixed date here and try to made all countries around the world accept it ?
