There are several drawbacks to polygamy
It gives more rights to the man than the woman ( from my experience on PDF, I suspect this will be a non issue...but just putting it out there

Polygamous marriages tend to have many more children increasing the likelihood of children in poverty not all fathers are Saudi billionaires.
A Nigerian study shows that there is significant difference in academic achievement of children in polygamous families than monogamous ( polygamous family children tend to do much worse in school)
Several studies of arab women in polygamous marriages showed them to have much higher levels of distress, phobias, problems in family functioning than women in monogamous marriages.
There are many more studies' in all of them children and women of polygamous families fared worse, often much worse, than those in monogamous families.
Polygamy is tailored for societies where only men's voices count, hence likely to die off slowly within a generation or so.
