That's right, just pay fine to Iran if you can't keep your promise. Paying this fine will increase Pakistan's international credibility. And if it takes to mortgage a couple of Pakistani airports so be it.

The thing is Iran has never extended hand towards Pakistan. When has Iran (with its oil money in 80s, 90s) ever invested in any Pak venture.

in 80 if you recall iran was at war , in 90 we were rebuilding damageof that war . still today many of those damage are not completely built , by the way at the time oil was 8$ / barrel

Do you realize that Turkey and UAE both are buying gas from Iran? UAE which is officially against Iran.

Irani gas is of no use for Pakistan till Iran is under sanctions. We need gas to power our industries, and attracting US sanctions is forking up our trade with world (US is already arm twisting Pakistan via FATF, IMF and every other way possible). Pakistanis are not good in policy making but surely are not idiot to loose all business and shutdown industry just to get gas from Iran who is nothing more then a neighbor for Pakistan.
