peace has to be desired by both sides, before it becomes a reality.

and i think the man was *implying* statehood for the Palestinians, with their capital, according to long standing Palestinian desires, in Jerusalem no less.

i think the Palestinians would be wise to at least cautiously explore the option of peace and political growth.

If true, what does he mean? Does he mean that Israel is willing to divide Jerusalem? Or does it mean a joint capital, where both Israel and Palestine would have legal shared authority over Jerusalem? Or does it mean that Jarusalem would remain with Israel, but Palesntinians would be allowed to have all their diplomatic and government facilities there?

at this stage of negotiations, one has to stay somewhat vague..

Understand the nature of conflict and the protagonists. Gulf Arabs are Not and were Not a party to independence, respect, prosperity or for that matter sanctity of place that is Jerusalem.
It weren't Arabs who liberated Al-Quds from crusaders, certainly wouldn't care now or in the future. Likewise, people interested in and hurt by this oppression lie elsewhere. For centuries it had been Turks, Afghans and others guarding frontiers of Muslim lands, preserving traditions... Arabs instead have been a dagger in the backs. No wonder then, they seek to legitimize the illegitimate... and blunt those forces who seek to defend as a primary instinct.
Besides, the conflict is not a Muslim-Jewish but a certain ideology that very much like vedic traditions seeks to rewrite history on its image.

Its a thinking based on facts.
They have not fulfilled their promises with Palestinians in camp David accord.
They are now even planning to annex Jordan valley.
Its not thoughts which will prolong the conflict but the illegal actions by Israel against all treaties.
