he's implying that Palestinians *can* have a state of their own, with their capital in Jerusalem, no less.

If you didn't read it, here it is again... Palestinians are not even a party to this...
There is no two state solution and the only obstacle is Israel itself. Perhaps one day you can take some time to study the impediments for such a state... sovereignty, Israeli impunity, controlling Palestinian discourse/narrative such as what if Palestinians elect Hamas or any party questioning the legitimacy of Israel for instance, security, law enforcement or defense forces and their level/limits on defensive/offensive procurement. Can they defend themselves? Do they have same rights to property and dignity and employment zionist occupation enjoys? What about resources, such as water? Or borders? So on and so forth... these are beyond faith, belief and ideology... and I don't even want to go there besides all the historical baggage...
So, let gantz make Jerusalem a capital of independent Palestine!
Though one thing in favor of Mashiach... he'd probably deliver that peace all so eagerly covet(cost just a pound of flesh).

So it's up to the Palestinians to gain more of what they want through negotiations and demonstrations, perhaps even an international rights campaign that gains support among western politicians and populations for the Palestinian self-governing rights.

To go on with their violent ways, to even threaten with violence, is only going to bring the risk of returning to the days where Israelis taught lessons to the Palestinians using means like white phosphorous.

These days, it's the Israelis extending the hand of friendship, possibly because Palestinians have stuck to demonstrating peacefully.

Palestinians, in my view, would be wise to take the Israelis up on their offer and think outside the boxes of history at the same time.

I believe my plan to see the Palestinians focus on construction of civilian infrastructure, farming, and water production (from seawater, on sunlight), and move their territories to the East, should be given thorough and reasonable consideration, before it is rejected.

And to wait for the Meshiach is futile in my view too. His return could literally take forever, and with an unwilling population and leaderships, peace will be impossible for him to achieve too.

So, Who has monopoly over violence in Palestine/Israel?
If Israelis want peace, they can enforce peace(of course based on your reply to the above), how? By recognizing even unilaterally a state for Palestinians and their right to a capital in Jerusalem, since Palestinians ARE NOT even a party to current talks and bonhomie.
And, I thought you were perhaps more informed than you have just demonstrated... Palestinians have no rights to the infrastructure, water or land... Israelis can literally choose at their leisure on where they'd build their next settlement and divert resources in that direction besides taking down ancient farms and controlling water supply. In Gaza any property, tunnel or infrastructure developed over years can be turned into rubble.
About control of firearms, same doesn't apply to settlers who terrorize and murder with impunity and your resolution expects Palestinians to resign themselves to servitude and implore their masters for mercy, decency and humanity, gandhi redux!
