Gantz Tells Saudi Paper: Jerusalem is Big Enough for a Palestinian Capital

Understand the nature of conflict and the protagonists. Gulf Arabs are Not and were Not a party to independence, respect, prosperity or for that matter sanctity of place that is Jerusalem.
It weren't Arabs who liberated Al-Quds from crusaders, certainly wouldn't care now or in the future. Likewise, people interested in and hurt by this oppression lie elsewhere. For centuries it had been Turks, Afghans and others guarding frontiers of Muslim lands, preserving traditions... Arabs instead have been a dagger in the backs. No wonder then, they seek to legitimize the illegitimate... and blunt those forces who seek to defend as a primary instinct.
Besides, the conflict is not a Muslim-Jewish but a certain ideology that very much like vedic traditions seeks to rewrite history on its image.
your answer raises more questions..

(1) who do you claim are the protagonists?
(2) "they seek to illegitimate".. who's they?
(3) "a certain ideology".. which ideology?
Its a thinking based on facts.
They have not fulfilled their promises with Palestinians in camp David accord.
They are now even planning to annex Jordan valley.
Its not thoughts which will prolong the conflict but the illegal actions by Israel against all treaties.
perhaps population growth forces Israel to force a new treaty on Palestinians.
this should be seen as an opportunity by the Palestinians, i believe.

.
at this stage of negotiations, one has to stay somewhat vague..
I don't believe there are any negotiations going on right now, not even back ground ones.

I don't think Israel is even interested at this point, as they're getting everything they've asked for, without having to give anything in return.

That's not what this Gantz fella is projecting here.

Never trust a Jew.
Muslims think differant.

I didn't say anything that wasn't obvious. In fact I did answer that above... simple and easy answer is, all those who are pained by the plight of Palestinians and passionate about it's cause. Gulf Arabs have been a conduit for first statehood and now legitimacy.

[QUOTE/](2) "they seek to illegitimate".. who's they?
Arabs... obvious, no?

[QUOTE/](3) "a certain ideology".. which ideology?
Zionism! Jewish, Christian and Muslim and everyone in between.

You seem pretty perturbed and anxious, looking for clues, hidden meanings and ulterior motives... and I couldn't have been more clear.

Anyways, Goodluck!

relax, all i was looking for was some basic clarity about what you were trying to say..

and in my opinion, it's not about ideologies of histories. it's about the future, and that requires *all* sides in these conflicts to come to some kinda acceptable solutions. and for that to happen, one had best keep an open mind and some patience in the heart.

And that is appreciable, with a major caveat... who is to say Israel will not expand further? When they have been doing so with blatant disregard of conventions, accords and treaties. Since, we(both me and you) do not and cannot project our will on the future... we are bound by historic precedences. And in there lie all the correlations in tandem with Zionist goals, ideology and expectations.

i believe the Israeli people can transcend their Zionist ideology.
but that does require the Palestinians to transcend their violent ways, to grow towards being a legitimate (protesting and negotiating) political entity.

.
that kind of thinking will only prolong the Muslim-Jewish conflicts.
palestine is dead...jews back tracked from their camp david agreement a lost hope for any peaceful settlement

Palestinian compromised so much that there is nothing more left to compromise

Palestinians are better off in combined isreali occupation then a state that is beyond the 1967 boundaries

in other words, palestianians have nothing left loose and isrealis gain nothing from peace

what will happen is that some day all this anger will explode and millions of people will die then isrealis will have something to loose and will come to the table

what should they negotiate now. There is nothing left to negotiate
apart from small 10x30km prison called gaza which would have existed if Israelis' could have slaughtered them ..

usa prisons are larger then gaza strip
Muslims think differant.

you are confusing arabs with muslims
these arabs think isrealis are orginal arabs

well let's try and avoid that scenario, please!

and if Palestinians would focus on construction, farming, and water production & management, then they could easily shift their territory to the East..

well let's try and avoid that scenario, please!
its not scenrio..its the truth..
isreali took sinai and were seelping till somebody smacked them

the same will happen sooner or later and it would be far bloodier for both Arabs and Israelis

isreal has never negotiated at the time of peace in past..it wont do now and wont in the future

So, let's lay it on the table... what we're seeing now is NOT a call to peace nor regional harmony! Let's call it what it is, consolidation. Palestinians are not even a party to this, basically everyone around is ganging up to say, happy happy and that is all.
Isreal after all is a special kind of democracy, which cannot accommodate Palestinians especially in a one state solution in a one man one vote scenario as it will infringe on the "Jewish nature" of the state of Israel... So, what is it then? A stateless existence for Palestinians, perhaps even pushing Syria, Jordan and Lebanon to grant citizenship to them... in fact as Israelis gain a state and legitimacy, simultaneously, Palestinians become stateless and homeless.
But that is not it! What about the temple and Mashiach? The elephant in the room, the religious connotation for many Israeli Jews and almost a two thousand year old mandate of heaven.

again, that is not what this Gantz fella is projecting here.
he's implying that Palestinians *can* have a state of their own, with their capital in Jerusalem, no less.

Actions speak louder than words. There are no indications that Israel is interested in negotiations. Gantz can say whatever he likes, but unless we see some sort of tangible move by israel, his words are meaningless.
