Indus nationalism is informed by the history and geography of the Indus Basin and it's surrounding mountains/deserts. At core is the Indus river which defines the region. Indian Punjab falls within Indus Basin. So does most of eastern Afghanistan. For instance Kabul region is drained by Kabul River flows through Khyber Pass into Indus near Attock. By this measure Gen. Zia was not a Gangu.

This is contrasted by Gangu which is Gangadesh. That is the region which at core has the Ganga River Basin. Most of India proper is informed by the Ganga Basin. Those who live there [irrespective of religion] are Gangu's although generally speaking most will be Hindu.

With regards to migrants or those whose roots are from outside the Indus [including of Gangu origin] but identify with Pakistan can not be called Gangus as they have worked to Indus nationalism which itself has Islamic iteration today. Therefore Musharaf [irrespective of his miserable rule as President] cannot be considered a Gangu. Indus nationalism must be and has always been accomodating of those from outside.

Indus nationalism is not just about geography or orgin or history. But one also of identity and state of mind. Since Musharaf has always identified with this region and not his place of origin [Gangadesh] he is not a Gangu. However people like Altaf can be called Gangus as they harbour feelings for Gangadesh and are traitors to Indus.

We also don't have any link with Brahmaputa, kaveri and other regions of india but we love Tipu and Haider Ali as we love Slahhudin.
