Specs are really Old buddy , Go for ryzen or you can go for this cheap build
Try
i3 6100 100£
H110M 50£
8 Gb DDR4 50£
Gtx 1050 Ti 4 GB 120£ to 150£ or gtx 1060 6 Gb 200£ to 240$
PSU450 to 500 35£ to 50£
SSD128 GB + 1 TB Hdd 100£ Together
Case 20£ to 30£
in around 550£ you will be able to play all the Games at 60fps at hd I will say go for 1060 Will last longer

I already bought the rx-480,and I also have the Aerocool Aero-500 case, ~3 tb of hdd, and a 600w 80+ EVGA psu (overkill but it was cheap).

Im actually stuck on the fence between changing the CPU or not, and upgrading to something decent like a i5-7500 (£170). It would be a massive step up, but it would also mean that I would have to pick up a new motherboard, and buy some ddr4 ram.

Im leaning towards sticking with what I got, but just buying a 240gb SSD and picking up a couple of 8gb RAM sticks to just tie the system together. It does limit future options and mean a slightly slower PC, but I'll have saved a ton of money which is ideal for me as a broke-a** student.

You can go for 128 gb ssd save half price,
So you can buy 16 gb ddr
As going for i5
I would say you can go for i3 which is hyperthreading
Will save there i5 is around 220£ you will have to change your board too i already told you which board you can choose and save money there

Good point, i'll definitely look into that i3.

As for the motherboard you might be right about upgrading, and if I get around to upgrading the cpu I might pick up the Gigabyte Z97P-D3 which has double the ram slots, space for another card, and is on sale for £60 atm

By the way, what does your rig score in 3DMark?

Dude, with a build like that you have to bench it....

You should atleast run a stress test to ensure your hardware is reliable and stable. It also lets you know if your system needs better cooling

I recently built a workstation rig if that qualifies for this thread. I intend to use it for my lab projects at home. Primary application is heavy virtualization, editing and rendering stuff. Not a dedicated gaming rig, but I am not a big PC gamer apart from FIFA titles. The workstation is capable of playing quite a few demanding titles. Although, for games I have a PS4 connected to my 4K TV.

Here are the specs:

Corsair HX750i PSU unit
Noctua NH-D15 CPU cooler
Asus Z10PA-D8 dual CPU motherboard
Intel Xeon E5-2620 v3 12 cores w/HT
Corsair Carbide Clear 400C case
Samsung 850 Pro 1TB 3x
Crucial DDR4 memory (128 GB)
Iiyama ProLite E2483HS-B1
MSI GeForce GTX 960 4G
