What's new

Daddy of Alienware - My new Monster Machine

amazing specs... you have a professional where you can afford to keel such a high spec laptop.

My laptop though is much slower but it does the job in the end
your mac machine was top notch when you bought it and showed me .. unless if you are talking about something else

then tell me

oh yes that was the best machine I ever owned in life. It was around £2600, bundled with the best possible specs available from Apple at that time. But I sold it after using it for 2 years for around £950. That was Macbook Pro, i7, 15 inch, 16GB of RAM with 512GB SSD drive

I currently have 2 laptops,
  • Microsoft Surface Pro 3, 8GB Ram, 256GB SSD, extremely portable device as it also works like a tablet
  • Lenovo U330
both laptops are touch screen with reasonable specs and does the job. Lenovo's hinge is slightly broken so I use it as backup and Surface Pro 3 is the one I am using on regular basis.

I've bought my last PC in 2008 and never update it TILL TODAY... you know why? that was my dream since 2008 that one day I'll buy Alienware.... and now after 9/10 years, I am capable to buy any of such high specs laptop.

Before going to buy this did in-depth search and discussed with some lappy experts. At the end after discussion, came to know that Asus ROG G752VY with above specs is daddy of Alienware so I bought & brought it here in Pakistan. (Note: Waited for more than 9 years just to buy this) :)
That's a lot of patience for tech-geek like you.

I usually change my laptop at least once a year. It just happens as I would more often gift it to somebody or it will develop a fault (in the case of last laptop). But I am not too much picky anymore, I just buy the machine that does my job, although I do have a desire to buy latest version of Dell XPS 13 inches or 15 inches

.
Masahallah may Allah give you even better laptops in future

It's Surface Pro

There are two versions offered by Microsoft (RT & Pro Versions) So the latest models for these two lines are
  • Microsoft Surface 4
  • Microsoft Surface Pro 4
I got the last year's version of Surface Pro 3. It's not a slow machine by any means but definitely not made for Video and Photo Editors like yourself

Congrats!
A question though. Why not buy the laptop from Pakistan? That way if push comes to shove, you will not face warranty or service issues.

I make it a point that whenever I buy an expensive piece of equipment, I buy from India just for these reasons. Though we hope that we never need any warranty or service, but better to be prepared for it.

I was planning on buying Alienware, I will now check out this model as well.

The reviews of this product in India has been good.

Edit:
Damn, just the stock version is costing 1.85lakhs.
