[Gallery] Iran - Iraq war

This war should not have happened it was disaster that today we pay for it 2 trillion and 2 million have been lost would will be better if was for Palestine 2 trillion is more than enough to make the strongest army in the world but our leaders were not wise

I wouldn't call saddam a leader..

he destroyed Iraq. We had the strongest economy in asia during the 70's. The Iraqi dinar equalled to 3 dollars. Our people were very cultured and liberal. My family both from paternal and maternal were one of the wealthiest in Baghdad. After all the wars and sanctions they were left with bags and bags of worthless money, because of the embargo, inflation and devalue of the currency...even after that, they were managing fine. in the 90's embargo only very wealthy Iraqis could go abroad for business trips, my grandparents would go to big european cities just for shopping.

you see all these rich gulf states, they were a joke in the 60's, 70's. You know shiekh zayed road ? ..it was offered by some shiekhs at a ridiculously cheap price to my relatives, they were selling it by the metre( you wouldn't bellieve me if I told you in detial) .my relatives refused to buy it! he said a dog wouldn't go there to take a dump..why would I buy garbage..60,70's Iraqis used to joke about the gulfies..

My father, returned to Iraq in the 90's after finishing his degree in the US, and although graduates don't undergo compulsory military service, he was forced to partake in the kuwait war in 1991. He was initially stationed in Baghdad, but then moved to Basra. He had a lot of his friends killed. My father was a military police officer, he had certain people bring him up based on untrue details.

this is what he used to do patrols in ..this is exactly it, military police patrols in range rovers.

Man **** saddam. what a cunt. I can tell you stories of saddam and encounters with my father, saddams family and friends...you wouldn't believe. Saddam created a country which lived upon war, some people from their birth to their death, all they've seen in their short decades of lives is bullets and missiles flying.

playing with guns and bullets for fun.. not a real army.
And you think now they have a real army ? loool... what they have now are western products eating dust in warehouses. They neither have the personnel nor the courage to run a effective army.

Providing drinks for soldiers during Operation Karbala-1. Saddam attempted to redirect attention from the loss of al-Faw in May 1986, by capturing Mehran and renewing strikes on Iranian cities and infrastructure. However, Iraqi forces went to the defensive, attempting to use the capture of Mehran as a “Dowry” for Al-Faw. Iran launched Operation Karbala-1, which recaptured most of the area.
