What's new

Future Pakistan-Turkish defense cooperation likely to be incremental, for now

Dude, in JF17 half the systems r Chinese and other half are Turkish mostly....Even Pakistan used their ASELPODs to bomb the shit out of indians on 27 feb.

Turkish Def. industry is very good, yr just not aware of it.

You have any evidence that half the systems of JF17 is Turkish? Don't mix or sell China for Turks.

I support Air Commodore Kaiser's idea of Pakistan & Turkey jointly developing JF-17 Block-4.

Such an aircraft should be a true 4.5+ generation platform which also serves as a testbed for developing indigenous avionics, materials, weapons, sensors and dare i say, an engine.

Then we can take those technologies, integrate TFX and Azm projects into a joint venture to produce a 5+ generation aircraft.

Turkey should learn from its problems with the US F-35 deliveries. Let's build our own stuff.

We can develop Super Mushak and K-8 into next generation training aircrafts too.

@cabatli_53 - @Combat-Master

The first requirement for block 4 should be 50% increase in size/weight. We already have block 1, 2 and 3 in light weight categories. Block 4 need to be in Medium weight category.

And do u have that there r not?:azn: And im talking abt Pakistan's JF17s not those exported JF17s they have systems based on user requirements, Even those Myanmar JF17M RUBY blk2 has Israeli subsystems too. It is about what one likes or prefers or not. In Pakistani fleet of Jf17s 42% r Chinese systems as agreed on workshare agreement while next is a mix of Pakistani/Turkish/Western systems. This is already well known as Pakistan owns 58% of this project and has its own user requirements.

HINT; the only targeting POD Pakistan uses on its Blk2 IS turkish ASELPOD. Chinese Targeting POD WMD7 is used on Blk1s in Pakistan.

Its not about comparing the two countries its just that Yr not very aware of the Turkish Def. industry.

As for Pakisan; Turkey and China both r equally important and we dont like to go on childish comparison like Women do nor do we prefer anyone over anybody, thats why Pakistan stays away from Xinjiang saga too.:agree:

its BS, JF-17 has nothing that is Turkish````and no, in defense field Turkey is nobody, as simple as that```it has nothing to do with friendship or who likes whom

Pakistan's cooperation with China and Turkey are two different domains and fields. they r both respected brotherly friends of Pakistan. and there cant b made any comparison between them at all.

u r right in general sense, but how can we along with turkey alone will be able to bear the costs and R&D of this project?
More partners along with GCC countries money can make this truly happen. And its not just aircraft, i want us to go same in UAV, Tanks, Ships and subs too.
It should be done more or less like our nuclear programme was executed. Those with money contributed money, those with expertise contributed expertise, those with contacts for raw materials contributed those etc. A programme where everyone contributes in a predefined and structured manner rather than competing and overlapping.

after 50% increase in size and weight it will be JF-18 not block-4.
If we badly need medium size its better to buy J-10 instead building JF-18 which will take resources and time none of which we have.
Focus on 5th Gen and buy few squadron of j-10 if need arises.

It will be a very inferior jet if you increase size/weight by 50% but have the same engine as your thrust to weight ratio will plummet.

By increasing the size by 50% i actually meant a whole new jet. You can not just pullout a medium weight fighter jet out of a Light weight. Sure we will need a new engine (or may be 2). I think of block 3 (as per its expected specifications) a complete and final pckage. We can not improve it anymore excluding improvement in weaponry and some acionics. We won’t be able to bring changes in the same sense like we brought into block 3 as compred to block 1. Now one can agrue that we can just go for J-10c. Why reinvent the whell ? And i am totally ok with that. If we can bring some 40% production of J-10c to pakistan along those jets then its a pretty awesome offer. And we should definitely go for it. But buying off the shelf jets won’t work for us anymore and that we learnt the hard way.

It's extremely ungrateful that a pak named Umair Nawaz claims Turkish provides 40-50% of JF-17 in a Pakistani forum!!!!

It's a shame that Pak should not get a Turkic fighter right away!

my dear brother, the whole world know that the JF-17 is a join venture of China & Pakistan but we must aware from these false flags account who wants see some sort of clash between us 4 Russia+China+Turkey+Pakistan...

And I thought 2-cent indians were disillusion - your arse is over your head due to which you can't think straight. Turkish involved in JF-17.... rubbish.:omghaha::omghaha:
lo g aik orr aya! Turkey isnt involved in project itself, i agree with that, but Pakistan uses her subsystems in JF17s

ASELPOD is an example.
